Kundapur: Bike Rider Killed in Hit-and-run Accident at Basrur

Kundapur, Jan 3: A bike rider was killed on the spot in a hit-and-run accident near Paankadkatte, Basrur at around 8.30 am on Thursday January 3.

The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Acharya (33), a resident of Hosangandi and carpenter by profession.

The accident occured when Bhaskar Acharya was riding from Kandlur to Basrur, to purchase building materials for slab work. He was killed near Pankadkatte by an unidentified vehicle which fled away after ramming into his bike.

Son of Rajivi, Bhaskar was married to Shobha Kandlur. The couple have two children Ajay (5) and daughter Aniket (3)

He had recently purchased land and was building a new house in Kandlur.

A case has been registered at the Kundapur police station. Search is on for the vehicle that killed Bhaskar.
