Udupi: Tempo Carrying Milk Topples at Santhekatte

Udupi, Jan 5: A tempo carrying crates of milk toppled on national highway 66 Santhekatte, between Nisarga Township and Highway Garage here on Saturday January 5 evening.

The tempo was plying from Manipal Nandini dairy to Kollur.

The accident occured when the driver of the van tried to overtake another vehicle and lost control over the van, said the sales boy who was in the vehicle. It is said that the tempo was at a high speed.

As a result of the accident, milk was spilt all over the road. Traffic was disrupted for over an hour.

With the help of local social workers Chinmaya and Umesh Shetty, Udupi traffic police cleared the traffic and shifted the tempo using a crane.

The tempo driver and the sales boy sustained minor injuries.

Udupi traffic SI Amanulla arrived at the spot and restored the traffic to normalcy.

    Milk Man is seems bit hurry!he want to deliver the milk at it's time and at any cost!even the human's life.Speeding vehicles should be impounded for certain time and cancellation the permit of the said vehicle and the licence of the driver's too.

    Mr.Martis sorry to say.In India word safety is taboo.Human life is so cheep and taken as granted for anything.I agree that quickly perishable food like milk to be transpored in refrigerated van.Samples to be checked on day to day basis.When do we get responsible leaders to implement such basic neccessities?

    These vehicles on time must reach the destinations so always Milk & Press drivers drive very rashly,if late then agents shouts the drivers for the late arrival.

    Looking at the truck carrying milk,
    question comes, is there a safety requirement for trucks carrying health related product like Milk?
    I don't see it here. It is going to be a long way before health dept and Police enforce strict code of requirements. Health Dept and Police, please wake up.

    MILK CARRYING VEHICLE(MILK VAN)always don't care as if they are driving COPTER!Once my car was almost hit by Milk van and driver of the opposite van enjoying it!Everywhere I did notice rash/over speed/dangerous driving under the guise of (ESSENTIAL/EMERGENCY GOODS)
