Udupi, Jan 8: Vasudeva Adiga (45), a Congress activist was allegedly kidnapped at around 9 pm near Goliangadi in Vandar here on Monday January 7.

As per the information obtained, Vasudeva Adiga was kidnapped while he was on his way back home to Vandar from Kota in his bike.

A few locals who witnessed the incident said that a black Scorpio car waylaid his bike near Goliangadi and the miscreants forced him inside their car.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Raghu Shettighar, a friend of Vasu Devadiga said that on Monday, Vasu was with him till 6.45 pm.

Sources said that since many days there was a land dispute going on between Vasudeva, Ramesh Bayari, Krishnamoorthy and Shankar over land. Hence police suspect that the kidnapping might have done by them.

In this regard, Ramesh Bayari’s driver Babu has been taken into custody as a suspect.

A case is registered in the Shankarnarayana police station.

I had known him earlier. It was a shocker to learn that he was put to death, he was abducted, his body was found in Chikamagalur after almost a week. If this could happen to an honest person like him, it could happen to anybody ! Finally I'm happy with the justice that the culprits are languishing in Hiriyadka jail ! I'm shuddered to think what if the culprits were not being traced at all ! In this case, Justice delayed is definitely not denied ! I miss a friend and it hurts me very much. God give the courage to his mother and sisters and all his admirers to bear the loss. Brahmavar can never forget him, as far as I know him.

Mr.Agida is a good human being and a has a powerful political background. Recently he had helped a poor guy who is suffering from a serious illness even though he belonged to his rival political party. But there has been an ongoing clash between him and a famous astrologer(his neighbour) for a land issue. This might also be a reason for kidnap. If that is the case, then i guess Mr.Bayari will have a tough time ahead.
