Mangalore, Jan 11: To commemorate its decennial year celebration, the Saanidhya Residential School and Training Centre for the Differently-Abled, Shaktinagar in association with Team Saathiya, Mangalore presented 'Saathiyaa Janapada Habba-2013' on Friday January 11 at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee Hall, Bendore here.

The guests were welcomed in a traditional way by Saanidhya and Team Saathiya.

Blessing the gathering after lighting the auspicious lamp, Fr Anthony Serrao said that God is the creator of all things in this universe. "He has created water on one side and desert on the other, and cultivable land as well as barren ones. The planet needs both kinds of lands," he said.

"Many of the developed and economically strong Gulf countries were once a desert. In the same way, God has created intelligent as well as differently-abled people in this world. It is his creation and we have no right to question that," he added.

"Enabling overall development of differently-abled children is not that easy, it requires a lot of effort, hard work, tolerance and dedication. Hence the work done by Saanidhya is highly laudable," he said. He also invoked God’s blessings on all the gathered and the special children present.

Professor Gopinath in his address said, "The real pain of these differently-abled children can be felt only if we have anyone like them in our family. It is a difficult and tough task to control and teach these children. The efforts put in by the staff of Saanidhya is commendable."

He further expressed his happiness on being a part of such of a wonderful programme.

Professor Gopinath inaugurated the programme in a unique way, by opening the door of a hut on the stage and letting two children out to dance.

Srijan Sulli, a student of Saanidhya who was celebrating his birthday, Maxwell Lobo, professor Florine Lobo, Mahabala Marla and Vasanth Kumar Shetty were also present on the dais.

Vasanth Kumar Shetty welcomed the gathering, Mahabala Marla proposed the vote of thanks and Sachitha Nandagopal compered the event.

The fact is that while we enable the unable to walk person to move on wheel chair, we pull huge population on wheels (like handicapped), with high cost.
As wheel chair is a great help to move a person who can’t walk, the vehicles with wheels are to speed up the move of numerous people, by keeping their legs idle.
In fact, they are pulled on wheels, from a standstill position till the destination, by expensive fuel force, health hazardous air pollution and peace disturbing sound pollution.
Since we move millions of tons of weight on wheels, every day, if we consider the enormous weight on wheels and use it as a pushing force, we can save billions of dollars by reducing expensive fuel consumption and undertake several useful projects, with the saved amount. By this we can see a great solution within our problems. If we think differently, we can make world of difference.

When God created man he had created him perfect. There was no defect found in him. Gen 1:31 says " And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. So it is not right to blame God for our defects and sufferings on this earth. All this has come because of SIN. It is the result of cause and effect. Due to this even innocent children and people are suffering The earth is groaning with sins and needs cleansing. Once we inherit the new earth and new Heaven there man would be restored to the original condition when he was created. This is the Blessed Hope of the redeemed people. Appreciate the attention and care given to the Differently-Abled Children at Saanidhya.
