Mangalore: Skating Champs from City Win Top Honours at National Level

Mangalore, Jan 12: Ace skaters from the city have once again brought laurels to their hometown by bagging an armful of medals at the national level.

Seeliya Simmith and Avani S Kumar of Mangalore Roller Skating Club won 3 gold medals  and 1 gold, respectively, in the 9th National Ice Speed Skating Championship held at Himachal Pradesh recently.

Omkar Yograj and Ashwin D’Silva each won a silver medal.

The 9th National Ice Speed Skating Championship was organized by Ice Skating Association of India.

The winners are being trained at Mangalore Roller Skating Club by trainer Mahesh Kumar.

Seeliya Simmith is studying in Lourdes Central School, Avani S Kumar in St Theresa, Ashwini D‘Silva in Cambridge School and Omkar Yogaraj in Mount Carmel.
