Dubai to Host Second International Kite Festival on Jan 18

Dubai, Jan 12: Continuing the endeavour of bringing cultures together, Tamquest Entertainment MFZE and Country Club will present the second International Kite Festival in the UAE at the Dubai Outlet Mall on Dubai-Alain Road on Friday January 18.

The much-awaited event will be an annual gathering for kite lovers in the country, showcasing some of the best kite flyers from around the world with teams flying in from India (Kerala and Mangalore), Sri Lanka and Kuwait.

Kites of all sizes, shapes and colours will be on display and over 10,000 visitors are expected to walk in from 9 am onwards. Massive theme-based kites will also don the blue skies, some even in the shapes of birds and animals.

A number of kite stalls will enable people to ‘Buy-and-Fly’  instantly and kids can look forward to the kite-building workshop between 10:30am and 11:30am. The kite-flying session will be followed by time out to view various kites at a special exhibition where experts talk of kite construction, materials used and other tips.

The event also boasts of a kids play area, a food court and an entertainment corner with DJ Vimal spinning music throughout the day. One can look forward to many cultural programs including a one-hour performance by Dubai Drums. Tickets are reasonably priced at AED 80 for family, AED 50 for couples and AED 30 per person.

Some highlights of the event are the free kite workshop for the kids, kite display by international kite teams, kite flying for general public, cultural programs from countries, separate kids play area with bouncing castle, camel rider and play riders.
