Social Activist Urges CM to Sanction Prosecution of 3 Ministers

Bangalore, Jan 12 (PTI): Social activist T J Abraham today sought Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar's sanction to prosecute three ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok for alleged 'massive illegality and corruption.'

In a letter to him, he said he intended to file separate complaints in the Court of Special Judge (Lokayukta Court) for trial of offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988 alleging massive illegality and corruption by Ashok, in charge of Home Affairs and Transport, Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani and Higher Education Minister Arvind Limbavali.

Quoting a High Court judgement in B V Acharya Vs Vekateshappa case, he said it had been held that a Special Judge under the PC Act, 1988 has no power to direct investigation under Sect 156(3) of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 unless and until there is a valid sanction issued by the appropriate authority in terms of Section 19 of the PC Act, 1988.

Dear Sallu Bhai, no need to say sorry or thanks for our comments. We all express our opinion based on our thinking. “Judging a person does not define who they are, it defines who we are” Same like apology too, does not always mean we are wrong and other person is right, it just means we value our relationship with friends and relatives more than our ego” Only thing is, we need to see more development and improvement in our Karnataka too. By giving one such chance to BJP we got to know what’s happening in Karnataka Assembly and what kind of development can be done by any State Government too. Corruption and Mal Practice was going on for many decades, but when few BJP Leaders followed the footsteps of Congress or JDS they became restless. What Yeddy did was just a denotification rights of a CM like many predecessor did in Karnataka but when they did it was right but for Yeddy it is wrong. Mining business in Bellary is wrong, but in Goa and Maharashtra is right. 2G and Coalgate Scam loss to Ex-chequer is “Zero” but CBI has been ordered to probe the spectrum business dealing during NDA rule. Coal allocation to Jindal Power Company is right but bribe asked by Zee TV utives for not to publish the report is wrong. Akbar Owaisi’s speech was laudable but Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat’s speech was inflammatory. Ex-Congress CM of Andhra Pradesh wealth was legal but inherited property to his son is illegal just because he left Congress Party and so on……

    Your comments well taken Thanks
I am not sure, if these matters should be taken only by activists or any other person who is averse to such corruption can also take up the matters - If it is so, wonder why everyone is quiet about it. There are many knowledgeable people in this forum itself who can take up corruption cases against congress\JDS party politicians etc.
Since I do not possess such great knowledge, I only comment from the fringe, whatever I can understand or comprehend from the news I read or hear and from various comments made here.

Did not mean to hurt your feelings - if I did - I am sorry Mr. Shetty.

Sachidanand Shetty, Mundkur/Dubai, Where are you? What are you doing in Dubai? Come down to Karnataka, you too have the right to file complaints against any minister if you have proof. If anyone complaints against BJP ministers you people say he is congress agent.

Since 1947 till todate whoever ruled us involved in corruption it may be center or state.. but voters are not matured enough to give befitting reply... Congress strength & Mantra is 3C - Corruption - CBI - Communal card and remaining parties too follow same.. If Gandhi alive today he might planned to flee from india..

Dear Sallu & Sahil, we are not talking against RTI activists like T J Abraham, here we are talking about biased nature of few RTI activists who target only one Political Party but closing their eyes on other Political Parties. Why can’t they see or hear many scams done by previous Karnataka Governments and current Central Government? In Hegde’s Lokayukta Report near about 54 people were accused, why only Reddy Brothers gone to jail and others left out till date? When pub was attacked in Mangalore region, many Associations and NGOs’ came down from Delhi but why they kept quite when Late Ms Jyoti Singh Pandey was brutally killed in moving bus? So, my message is very clear. If you want to condemn, then go after everyone whoever does the scam irrespective of party or religion or cast but please do not show your biased nature to society.

It is very strange to hear from Sachidanand Shetty, Dubai that Social Activists are Spoiling Karnataka and not the Politicians even after reading hearing so many news\cases booked against the ministers\politicians.
Mr. Shetty, I have noted, writes his comments with much knowledge but somehow in this comment I find him lacking knowledge about J.T. Abraham, the Social Activist.
May be Mr. Shetty does not like someone taking against our Ministers\politicians even when someone finds out certain things abt them.
May be in course of time J.T.Abraham will be given an opportunity to prove what he claims "massive illegality and corruption"
We all have to wait and see!!!!

If Ministers are involved in corruption, people will teach lesson to them and Lokayukta will take its own course of actions too. But now we have to verify who is this new Social Activists T J Abraham, came from where and sponsored by whom? Karnataka is spoiled not by any Politicians but by these kinds of so called opportunists Social Activists, Vedike, NGOs’ and various Associations, etc. I think every State Government should restrict outsider to file for RTI and Lokayukta complaint unless they are residents or having employment in that State
