Woman Gang-raped, Murdered

Bhagalpur (Bihar), Jan 14 (PTI): In a grim reminder of the horrific Delhi rape case, a woman who got down from a Delhi-bound train in Bhagalpur district, was gangraped, killed and her body hung from a tree in a mango orchard.

Police said the 32-year-old victim, who was a passenger of the Brahmaputra Mail that was travelling to the national capital, was dragged to the mango orchard and gang-raped by unidentified persons after she alighted from the train between Vikramshila and Kahalgaon stations.

She was strangulated and her body hung from a tree late last night. Police recovered the body today and sent it to the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Bhagalpur for post-mortem.

The victim, who hails from New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, took the train from Alipore to Delhi, along with her son. As the train was jampacked, she tried to get down at Sahibganj but was prevented from doing so by co-passengers, ASP, Bhagalpur, Meenu Kumari told PTI.

When the train slowed down between Vikramshila and Kahalgaon stations, she jumped out. It is not clear why she took this step.

A group of inebriated people then dragged her to a nearby mango orchard and sexually assaulted her.
Liquor bottles were found at the spot, Kumari said.

A railway ticket and cellphone number of her village pradhan written on a piece of paper was recovered from the victim's possession, police said.

The latest incident comes close on heels of the December 16 gangrape of a 23-year-old paramedical student by six persons in a moving bus in south Delhi. She was brutally assaulted and thrown on the road without clothes. The victim died in a Singapore hospital on December 29.

Very sad indeed. Instead of protecting women, elderlyones, children and physically challenged people, these criminals are raping, torturing and killing them. No value for humans and humanity. Such event and the events around the world, clearly show that these are the critical times which we are living now. The human Governments have miserably failed to bring lasting solution to mankind’s problems.

This should not surprise us as the Bible clearly shows what is going to happen in the last days:

“ …. that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power …..

13 But wicked men and impostors will advance from bad to worse, misleading and being misled…” (2 Timothy 3: 1-5, 13)

We can expect worse events in the future & the only solution to mankind’s problem is God’s Kingdom which we are all praying for.

It can be seen that there has been a spurt in the rape cases after Delhi rape case protests.
The rapists are now openly defying the country's legal system, since they dont have to be afraid about law .
How many more victims are required so that our ministers/govt wake up.The time has come to amend all laws & bylaws to reform our outdated police/ judiciary.
