Muscat, Jan 19 : Donation of blood can be termed a heroic deed as it would serve the purpose of saving the life of an ailing person, a fellow human being. Every minute of every day, someone would need blood.
As part of its service towards the society and with a concern for saving lives, SPANDANA MUSCAT has taken up a worthwhile initiative to donate blood and help save the lives of others.
Spandana Muscat organized its maiden Blood Donation Drive on Thursday, 10 January 2013 in Ruwi. For Spandana it was a New Year gift to humanity.
Spandana team was truly humbled to witness an overwhelming response from around 132 volunteer donors . It was indeed a proud moment for Spandana team and the team rejoiced its achievement with a great sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.
Overall 112 medically fit donors donated blood All the donors were given a gift hamper as a goodwill gesture from Spandana and at the end of the session a raffle draw was conducted wherein 3 lucky winners walked away with mobile phones sponsored by M/s B H Group Oman.
The Blood Bank officials and the donors alike were highly appreciative of Spandana’s efforts and thanked the organizers for the arrangements, the hospitality and all in all for a well co-ordinated blood donation drive.
In the past 2-3 years, Spandana team has been organizing free/open-to-all quality musical shows / entertainment programmes drawing thousands of music lovers in Oman, which have been highly appreciated by all. No doubt, Spandana team has already carved a niche in Muscat by organizing such quality entertainment programmes. In addition, Spandana team has also been doing its bit by involving in certain charity activities back home as a social responsibility.
The resounding success achieved in this blood donation camp is yet another feather in Spandana’s cap. Spandana attributes its success to the wholehearted support and encouragement received from all its members, sponsors and well-wishers.
As promised, the Spandana team has already started the New Year with a noble gesture by campaigning for blood donation a gift of love to humanity. We believe that together, every drop will fill a reservoir!! It is Spandana’s endeavor to continue its efforts in serving the society in whatever way possible in its own small way. Surely, together we can make a difference. We hope this camp will motivate and inspire more volunteers to participate in social projects in the future” added the convener of the program.
Spandana team is very grateful and thankful to all the donors and the ever-willing sponsors for their kindhearted and unstinting support and encouragement. Spandana looks forward to their continued support and co-operation in Spandana’s future programmes.
