India believes in peace with neighbours: Sonia

New Delhi, Jan 20 (IANS): India believes in maintaining peace with neighbours but enters into a dialogue only on "accepted principles of civilised behaviour", Congress chief Sonia Gandhi said here Sunday.

"India is a country which believes in maintaining peace with neighbours, but indulges in a dialogue based only on accepted principles of civilised behaviour," she said.

"We are determined to deal with terrorism and cross-border threats," she said at an All India Congress Committee session.

Her statement come in the wake of killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops near the Line of Control Jan 8.

This is the second time she stressed that dialogue with a neighbouring country should be based on accepted principles of civilised behaviour. She made a similar statement Friday.
