'Hai Bye Dubai' : Karnataka Sangha to stage Kannada play on Feb 8

Dubai, Jan 21: After successfully hosting the 56th Karnataka Rajyotsava event in November 2012, Karnataka Sangha is now poised to entertain the Kannada community in UAE with 'Vasantotsava-2013', informed president of the Sangha Girish Shetty.

The event will be held at JSS Private School, Al Safa, Dubai, on Friday February 8 at 3.30 pm.

"As part of autumn season celebrations, the Sangha will be hosting 'Vasantotsava-2013' an event that will display the art and culture of Karnataka," said general secretary of the Sangha Daya Kirodian.

A special attraction of the event will be the drama 'Hai! Bye! Dubai' to be staged by local drama troupe Inchara Kala Tanda-Dubai.

Vice-president K R Tantry has extended an open invitation and requested all Kannadigas in the UAE to attend the cultural extravaganza.


Highlights of the event

Art & Crafts Exhibition:

All Kannadiga’s are eligible to showcase their art and craft work made by them, which may be made of wood, drawing, painting, handicrafts, thread crafts, hand made dolls etc. The best craft will be awarded.
 

Kannada Drama 'Hai Bye! Dubai' and Maim Show

The drama will be staged by Inchara Kala Tanda-Dubai, an enthusiastic local troupe of stage artistes. 'Hai Bye! Dubai' is a contemporary social drama blended with humour. A mind-blowing maim show will be staged by the same team.


'Aadarsha Dampathi-2013' - Best Married Couple-2013 Competition:

Married couples can participate in the competition. The winning couple will be awarded with a certificate and a prize.

Dance performances:

Dance teams from different Emirates will be performing to the tunes of autumn music and folklore.
