Who will punish this child-abuser?

Who will punish this child-abuser?

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Jan 21 : In some foriegn countries there are strict rules against beating or punishing children, be it by teachers, parents or anyone else. One may recall the sensational Norway case where an Indian couple from Andhra Pradesh was arrested and sentenced to jail for allegedly abusing their son.

But in India, beating children at home or even schools is common. In recent years, due to the impact of electronic media, cases of corporal punishment have come down in schools. But what about parents who beat children for petty reasons or sometimes, no reason at all?

A photographer with one of India's leading newspapers on Sunday January 20 captured horrific pictures of a father physically abusing his toddler in Egipura village of Bangalore.

The father of an 18-month-old baby boy, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, smashed the baby on to a metal sheet while his wife and other people watched aghast. It is said that the father was upset over the demolition of a shed by the BBMP. The BBMP had demolished about 100 sheds which were built illegally.

The unscrupulous father thrashed the child about mercilessly, and took all his anger on the innocent baby. The incident created outrage in the vicinity.

People watched on, but no action was taken against the father and no police complaint was filed.

Severe punishment must be imposed on such irresponsible and inhuman people, said a human rights activist who is in the process of collecting more evidence.

Mr.Pais, Mangalore, yes I am proud of my “countrymen” and Ancestors who were practicing Sati, dowry system and many of them, Economic, Social and Cultural Deprivation of Widows and Child Marriage, Bonded slavery systems Even practices like sacrificing a goat/cow/horse/humans to "god" doesn't show anything but belief in something which is barbaric yes most of them are followed till date even after British tried their utmost to eradicate it, In fact our cast system has worsened, crimes has shot up, infanticides especially female babies being killed is still around corruption hit the roof do you know were Indians stand in corruption internationally check this site http://www.transparency.org/research/cpi/overview looks like you are suffering from “The Ostrich Syndrome” like many others and check this site to more information about our principles what we do with the dead http://www.wired.com/medtech/health/magazine/15-12/ff_bones?currentPage=all

And aping other cultures and criticizing others and blaming others for your entire Predicament. And looks like you are not keeping abreast with top Indian news in recent times
I have worked with the nationals of all the developed countries and I have worked with Indians and ask me if I know the difference, I surely do and I would think 100 times before working or doing business with an Indian, especially with the likes of you! Who have a high opinion and low basic Human Moral!! First go and read the history get all the true facts before you start pointing fingers at others especially when someone speaks the truth, Truth always hurt

The pictures tell a very grim story. We can only surmise the pain and fear that the little one has gone through .This person must me immediately arrested and punished severely. The time has come for the the formation of a body like in Norway where the government takes care of helpless people as that is the only way of protection. This will ensure that there is someboy to take care of the oppressed. In this case the father must be given a rigorous punishmnet to match his actions.

@Ethan Avidhan, Florida: Not sure if you looked at the pics, Maybe you should.. Because everytime i see it i only think of what the child was going thru, Not what the mad dog.. I am sure most of the readers here feel the same..

Dude, living in the USofA you of all people should know what such an act can mean in the US.. I am sure if this was in the US, the US cops(if present) would have either shot or tazed this mad man.. I wont be surprised if you also tried reasoning and justifying the mass killings in the recent Connecticut school..

As for your so called pathetic place that we live in, Dude Im not sure where you were born and schooled, but iam sure your parents/grandparents once lived here and were part of this amazing country/city and part of its rich culture..
