Mangalore: Shinde should apologize to Hindu community for terror remark - VHP

Mangalore, Jan 23: The members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal on Wednesday January 23 staged a protest against union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde for his recent 'Hindu terror' remarks, wherein he had accused the RSS and the BJP of holding training camps and promoting 'Hindu terrorism'.

As part of the protest 'rasta roko' was organized by the protestors for nearly 10 to 15 minutes at PVS circle here.

The protestors sat on road in a circle, blocking vehicular traffic from all the directions, and shouted slogans against the central government and Shinde. They demanded that Shinde submit an apology to the Hindu community.

Addressing the protestors, Shivanand Mendon of Bajrang Dal said that the statements given by Shinde were not acceptable by the whole of Hindu community. "Shinde should tender an apology to the community immediately, failing which the protest will be intensified," he warned

Leaders Sharan Pumpwell, Jagadish Shenava, Pradeep Pumpwell, Punith Pumpwell, Pramod and others were present.  


BJP condemns Shinde's statement

"Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde, by linking RSS and BJP with terrorism, has behaved like a scared dog barking at the full moon," said Franklin Monteiro, state BJP minority morcha vice-president in a press note.

"Shinde has insulted the entire nation by calling the partriotic RSS and Sangh Parivar as terrorists. The Hindu community has been a role model to the world in respecting and giving space for other religions and communities to live and prosper peacefully. Shinde, being the union home minister, has done a grave crime by passing such a comment," he said.

"It is clear that he has made these remarks to impress Sonia Gandhi and for vote bank," he added.

"RSS is an association that lends its help in times of natural calamities, irrespective of caste or religion. Calling RSS as terrorist clearly suggests that Shinde has been affected by jaundice or some other disease," said Monteiro.

    Sushil Kumar Shinde is a top level Minister in Indian central Government right now, Who is Ram Jetmalani, he is nothing to our country. So why Shinde is opologise and Malani is Hero, its called a partiality, Shinde is attacked individual religion which is his own, Malani is direct attack to "God Sri RAM" which is he belongs to. God Sri RAM's belongers (Saffron's) like Ram Jetmalani and not like "GOD SRI RAM". They prove it today. This is not a rubbish politics ?.     Shinde's statement is 100% true. All Hindus are not RSS and Sangh Parivar. Hatred, violence and destruction is the only aim of RSS. They brain wash the innocent hindus. It is a pitty. Instead of protest, my sincere advice to them is to attend a month's programme in 'Yoga' where they will learn to concentrate on their breathing. This will naturally help them spread peace all around.

    Mr Shinde, Home Minister of India calls Hindus as terrorists. Then entire government machinery comes to justify the statement. This can happen only in India.

    However it is known fact that RamaSene, BD and some elements of VHP broght the talibani atmosphere in DK.

But a mere statement coming out from a Home Minister of the Country that “BJP and RSS were running terrorist training camps across the country” is not at all acceptable.     I am really surprised see the number of protesters ! If it really HINDU protest I can imagine what can happen in Mangalore. Why majority of Hindus not attracted to these organizations? Even if BJP is super good why there are enough problems within the leaders which is very much comparable with congress. I do not see any difference between congress and BJP. Also general public well aware of the so called leaders of these organizations locally hence they keep away from them .Media should not give much importance to these creatures.

    I am not BJP supporter but what Shinde said is clearly unwarranted. He said BJP and RSS are running terror camps. He choice of words is completely wrong here and he should apologies and correct his statement. If one goes by the statements of Congress and explanation given by Shinde - All he was saying that terror has no religion. He should correct his statement as below - 'Some elements in BJP and RSS have links with people who have been involved in terrorism'. This statement is factually correct.
    The onus is also on the media not link terrorism with particular religion or color. We often hear words like 'Sikh Terrorists''Islamic Terrors' and so on. Media is also using the term 'Red Terrorism' off late as well. Media should avoid use of these words and ensure that political leaders also not use these words. As a congress supported I would expect Shinde to clarify his position.

    "We have evidence against them. There are statements of witnesses," he said.

    Swami Assemanand (arrested), allegedly involved in Samjhauta Express, Mecca Masjid and Ajmer Sharif Dargah blasts. He was 'associated with RSS wing Vanavashi Kalyan Parishad' in Dang, Gujarat in 1990s to 2007. Rajender alias Samunder (arrested), allegedly involved in Samjhauta and Mecca Masjid blasts. He was 'RSS Varg Vistarak'.

    Well, the formation of RSS was the biggest calamity in history of India. The organization which was responsible for killing Gandhiji is still a patriot organization. Alas!

    I strongly disagree associating terrorism with any religion because no religion teaches terrorism. In the current context of Shinde's comments, one should note that he has given enough proof to support his accusation of people in right wing( RSS/BJP) parties. All accused were active members of RSS and BJP in some way or the other, either it was Ajmer blast, Samjotha express, Mecca masjid blast or Malegaon blast.

    Many RSS/BJP supporters are in absolute denial, but the facts make them exposed.

    The biggest calamity happens to be is, BJP being accused of Terrorism stands to be national political party and that is tragedy in Indian political system.
