Udupi, Jan 24: Ramesh Bayari, the prime suspect in the sensational murder case of RTI activist Vasudeva Adiga, has been arrested, police said.

SP Dr Boralingaiah confirmed Bayari's arrest when contacted by Daijiworld.

Reliable sources said that Bayari was arrested in Mumbai on Wednesday January 23 night.

Bayarai was brought to Udupi town police station on Thursday January 24 and will be taken to Kundapur later in the afternoon and produced in court.

A source told Daijiworld that Bayari was arrested last Friday in Bangalore, however, it is now claimed that the arrest was made only on January 23 in Mumbai.

Bayari was involved in a land dispute with his neighbour Vasudeva Adiga. The court had ruled in favour of Adiga, but Bayari reportedly continued to have his hold on the land. Adiga kept on his fight through legal means, and police suspect that the land dispute was the prime reason that led to the murder.

Already 6 persons including Bayari's relative Subramanya Udupa have been arrested in the case. They were produced in court on January 24 again after their police custody ended, and were remanded in judicial custody till February 7. They will be lodged in Hiriadka jail.

Adiga was kidnapped on January 7 and later on January 12, his body was found in a pond at Kadur in Chikmagalur.

    This saffron colour is Dangerous. Anyone can say this Saffron clad Jyothishi may be murderer. There are lot of dangerous stories behind this saffron clad people. I am not telling all are same but there are lot of good people. criminal minded people are taking shelter of this saffron colour.Police and Citizens must keep eye on these type criminals.

    I don't think there is a peace loving Brahmin community and peace loving christian community.Every one is a kind hearted till he comes to know what real world is ! Slowly peace loving man go after money,image and become PIECE maker instead of PEACE maker.It applies to all community or religions.
    Have you read Ravindra Prasad serial killer novel by ravi belgere?.His father was a Govt officer,elder brother a famous lawyer.Yes,he is from very decent Brahmin family.But situation,friend circle made Ravindra to kill 6 taxi drivers and escape with their cars.Interstingly,who joined hands with him in killing were all Brahmins including two girls ! Finally,he was caught and got 14 years jail imprisonment.(once,he escaped from udupi jail in hollywood style).When we finish reading book,we actually feel sorry for him.He was a very very Intelligent student.Situation,destiny made him serial killer.So,we have to be careful in selcting friends,neighbours.Sometimes,a good muslim neighbour may be better than jealous relative vice versa..So, ACCEPT GOOD always.Don't compromise with BAD.

    I condole the death of RTI activist Vasudeva Adiga.I cannot imagine the hatred and conspiracy in this case.I have lot of brahmin friends.This community is very much peace loving not known for criminal activity.They are devoted priests,nature lovers,peace makers and excellent in education and medical fields.I am worried is spiritual power of mankind diminishing?

    Sounds strange!! Per reports Adiga was killed for property dispute! Per reports supari was 25lacs in that case what should be the value of the property in question?

    Secondly per reports if court had ordered in favor of Adiga on property issue elimnating him would be of no use as the property would then still devolve on his successors?

    Ramesh Bayari can continue his astrolgoy profession in Jail. All the criminals will stand in queue to know their future,may be jail warden too..
    I must share here with readers the autobiography of Indian spy Mohanlal Bhaskar Rao.He was arrested by Pakistani intellgence in Lahore.He spent 13 years in Pak jail before getting released.He wrote " We were not treated like human beings in jail.They used to take us to torture cell everyday.But one day I told prison officer who was about to kick me, pls don't kick me,you will be in toruble,I am an astrologer too.Officer tortured him more than what he used to do.But within a week his son died due to high fever..May be,that incident made him soft.He never touched me after that "..When Mohan Lal was released,he went to then PM Mr.Morarji Desai for financial help. Mr Morarji said " We can't help you financially because you spent 13 years in Pak jail" ..Disappointed Bhaskar writes in the end " I can forgive Pak Police..But not Morarji..If I had revolver,I would have pumped all bullets on him "..(courtsey-Tharanga-25 years ago)
