Dubai: Advocate P P Hegde to grace maiden Badaguthittu Yakshagana event

Dubai, Jan 25: The maiden Badaguthittu form of Yakshagana is all set to make history in UAE with performance of major stalwarts from Poornachandra Yakshakala Prathistana, Khumbhashi, Kundapur along with guest artistes, as a premier presentation for UAE Yakshagana fans by the newly formed 'Yakshakalavrunda UAE'.
Padmaraj Yekkar, president of 'Yakshakalavrunda UAE' who has been working hard to present the maiden venture in UAE, released this news to the press.

The programme is scheduled to be held at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School, Oud Metha Road, Dubai on Friday February 1 at 5 pm.
A curtain raiser programme was held on January 11 at Fortune Classic Hotel, Ghusais in a grand manner in the presence of eminent personalities. With preparations going on in full swing the organisers are confident that this programme will be historic with a grand gala event and that Yakshagana fans will surely support the venture with their presence in large numbers.
'Madhura Mahendra' Yakshagana story is the base for all subsequent epics like Bhagavata, Mahabharata and the great Bhagavadgeeta. The story narrates the birth of Lord Krishna and the death of Kamsa.
Well-known advocate of Karnataka, Padma Prasad Hegde (P P Hegde) will grace the occasion as chief guest. Hegde has been recently elected as the All India President of Youth for Nation (YFN) which is a well-known non-political social service organization with the head quarters in Delhi.
An ardent lover of Badaguthittu Yakshagana, Hegde has provided a very high level of support in arranging to bring the troupe to Dubai. An Yakshagana artist himself, he has staged and acted in several shows during his college days. As said by president Padmaraj, it is their pleasure that Hegde has accepted the invitation to be the chief guest to grace this maiden programme in Dubai.
Well-known entrepreneur Praveen Shetty of Fortune Group of Hotels has wholeheartedly supported this event as the Main Sponsor followed by Satish Venkataramana of Chilly Willy Trading and Shivanand Hebbar of Sapil Style Scents as Co-sponsors. The artists include Ramachandra Hegde Kondadhakuli, Shankara Hegde Nilkod, Nagendra Murooru, Sanjaya Beliyur, Shreedhara Hegde Chapparamane, Shekara Uppinangadi, Ganapathi Hegde Thotimane, Ashoka Bhat Siddhapura and Giridhar Nayak Mittabile.
