Mumbai, Jan 27: Renowned singer Melwyn Peris from Mangalore regaled Konkani music fans in Mumbai on Republic Day, Saturday January 26.
The ‘Melwyn Peris Nite’ was organized by Konakn Kala Manch association at St Mary’s Junior College Hall, Santacruz (East).
Alexius, managing director of Color Art Redefining Images was the chief guest while William D’Souza, Richard Pinto, John Serrao, Alphonse Serrao, Lawrence Crasto, Joseph Lobo, Lawrence Coelho were the guests of honor who shared the dais.
Prolific singers like Nester Peris, Dorine D’Souza, Anitha Samson, Zeena Pereira, Jerome Coelho, Robin Sequeira, Veena Pereira among others entertained the audience with beautiful renditions of popular Konkani numbers.
Prominent musicians Joel Pereira and Roshan S rendered music while the comedy duo of Jerry Rasquinha and Joseph D’Souza took the crowd on a laughter ride.
Overall, the musical nite was the grand success and received rousing response from the audience.
The event was ably compered by Melita Pinto.
Charles D’Cunha welcomed the gathering, Clement Abraham Lobo, president of Konkani Kala Manch compered and Ancy Palladka, chief secretary delivered the vote of thanks.
Harry Sequeira, honorary secretary, Molly H Sequeira, Hilda D’Souza, Genevieve Louis, Pinto Vamanjoor among others were present.
