Thank you, Fr. Bonaventure, for honouring the program in the name of Oswald D'Souza who published new album of Konkan music. Strange as it may sound, we have never met nor heard of Oswald D'Sousa. Does he also belong to Valencia parish?

Valencia Parish is gifted with many stalwarts who have brought lot of name and fame for our community. Shriman Ivan D'Souza, Eric Ozario, Louie Pinto and many many others are the strength and dignity of our parish under your leadership.

We are still rejoicing within ourselves from a distance the six language choir that you organized for the Xmas night that adds the beauty and honour to our own beautiful language of Konkany.

Thank you once again for your noble leadership that is bringing additional glamour to our parish. Parish church is a community in itself that creates a new awareness of unity and diversity in fast changing city of Mangalore where Christians have a great role to play in the progress of prosperity of people.

When we visited Vatican and Fatima last year many of the International visitors asked us where have we come from, and we told them that we have come from a Catholic Parish called "Valencia". This opened a new dialog altogether, and they were amazed to hear that we have so much of Portuguese, Spanish and Christian influence in secular India that is spreading more and more because of our strongly embedded Christian values in the ancient land of Hindustan.

During our recent trip to India where we had so many American friends who went with us to Sacred Heart Church in Mumbai, St. Philomena's Church in Mysore and also the St. Lawrence Chuch at Karkal in addition to visiting St. Aloysius College Chapel at the Light House Hill. It was a great eye opener for them to realize how much we have treasured in India through our Christian faith in a land where prevails the largest democracy of the world.
