Bantwal: Grandeur, glamour at Vittal Temple Annual Festival

Bantwal, Jan 29: The annual festival of Sri Panchalingeshwara Temple, Vittal was celebrated here on Monday January 28 with a grand Rathotsava. On Sunday January 27, car festival in the chariot of flowers (Hoovina Teru) was held to mark the occasion.
Various rituals were held on Monday. The same night, puja was performed at Bobbekeri after which the chariot passed through the streets of Vittal before reaching Marugadde, where the remaining rituals were performed.
On Monday night, ‘Sapthaswara 2013’ musical evening was organized under the aegis of Panchashree group.
Dignitaries such as Dinesh V M Subramanya, entrepreneur, Shesappa Gowda Marthar, JD(S) leader, Krishna K of Vittal aramane, Radhakrishna Adyanthar, Krishnappa Poojary, JD(S) leader, Ramanath Vittal, former president of Vittal gram panchayat were the guests for the evening.
On the occasion, dignitaries honoured Sheena Nayak, an auto rickshaw driver for his service.
The formal stage programme was compered by Harish while Shree Hari delivered the vote of thanks.
The stage programme was followed by musical evening which enthralled the audience.
Performance by Kerala-based singer Suhaib rocked the venue. Singers like Dinesh Kinnigoli, Sandesh, Jyotsna, Rashmi Naravi also performed.
India’s Got Talent fame Ocean Kids dance group, as usual rocked the stage with their unique dancing skills.
More than 15,000 people flocked the venue and enjoyed the evening.
The musical evening was compered ably by VJ Avinash and VJ Anusha.
