Udupi: Navayuga promises to resume NH widening work in a week

Udupi, Jan 30: The people of the district, whose hopes of using the widened national highway were dashed after the abrupt suspension of widening work some time back, have something to cheer about. Ramakrishna, project manager of Navayuga Engineering Company, which is executing the widening work of national highway stretch between Suratkal and Kundapur, revealed that the company will resume the work within a week or at the most, ten days.

His promise came forth in the presence of local MP, K Jayaprakash Hegde. Hegde, who had invited Ramakrishna to Brahmavar for consultation with regard to confusions and bottlenecks relating to the national highway widening work on Tuesday January 29, held discussions with the company official relating to reasons for delay in execution of the said work. Ramakrishna also said that the work had ti be stalled because of financial constraints, and that the company is in negotiation with another bank to sort out the issue.

Birti Rajesh Shetty, Brahmavar block Congress president, urged the company to reduce the height of the proposed underpass near Brahmavar, so that the elevated underpass reaches the ground level before touching Akashvani circle. Former zilla panchayat president, B Bhujanga Shetty, and former president of Varambally panchayat, S Narayan, pointed out that the service roads built on either side of the under pass are very narrow, and that vehicular traffic will be hit if a heavy vehicle gets stranded in the service road.

K M Hegde, official of National Highways Authority of India, promised to consider the issues raised and find a solution to the problems.

MP, Jayaprakash Hegde, clarified that neither the union government nor the national highways department were responsible for the delay. “The delayed execution can be attributed to problems faced by the contracting firm. Several leaders, in spite of being aware of these issues, have been issuing misleading statements in public forums, which is objectionable,” he added.

Abdul Salam of Mother Palace, Prakash Shetty, Auto Rickshaw Union president, Raju Poojary, Godwin Menezes and several others were present.

    2. Increase per day passenger reservation quota at least 50 (now only 24 which is very negligible).

You need to play some pressure tactics for genuine reason & it is very important to you from the point of view of forthcoming election.

    Dear Vinod,(USA).
I had the same experience during my visit to Udupi last September. Traffic is moving left and right without following the traffic rules. There are very few traffic lights and few traffic cops.Only our leaders like JP Hegde can solve such problems.

    Y. Samuel Reddy was a poster boy of Congress in the South and got hold of all major National Highway Contracts from the Central Govt. in favor of his son Jagan’s company. Lately all ongoing projects were met with road blocks when the bad boy CM aspirant Jagan Reddy floated his own new party in the name of his late father and defeated the Congress badly in recently held by-elections. These types of dramas will be performed on regular basis to keep the general public busy until Jangan blinks in favor of the UPA.

As a person who reads the pink papers regularly and can claim some knowledge about companies operating in India, let me state some facts Navayuga has NOTHING to do with Jaganmohan Reddy, It is a rumor created somewhere in Coastal Karnataka, nowhere else in the world do people think that Navayuga is owned by Jaganmohan Reddy. Since Jagan Reddy came into prominence everyone here assumes that every single company from Andhra Pradesh is owned by Jaganmohan Reddy.Soon people will claim the Charminar monument is owned by Navayuga Navayuga is a company which was established when Jaganmohan Reddy was a kindergarten kid, The owners have absolutely nothing to do with Jagan Reddy, Jagan Reddy owns lot of companies, most of them Benami, but there is not even a single shred of proof that Navayuga has ANY links to Jagan Reddy, Please read the business papers or any credible business magazine, no one links Navayuga to the Reddys, it is a myth created and hyped only in our region. Thousands of pages of documents have been submitted in courts on Jagan Reddy's holdings but there is not a single page on any links to Navayuga. What has happened about the NH construction -the delays, the financial difficulties etc are happening all over India and not only in our area all construction conglomerates involved in road building are bleeding financially and it is not unique only to Navayuga, the NHAI is even planning to re negotiate terms and conditions with ALL construction companies otherwise all National Highway projects all over India may be abandoned, and this is a scene being replicated all over India and attributing it to Jagan Reddy is completely misleading and false.

No matter what whoever politician gets involved. None can decide on the road widening. No govt. funding has been done in this contract. As per Navayuga's agreement, they will spent their own money and shall recover it in form of toll gates for 25 yrs. This is a pure private decision. Since are the mining scan, the reddy's have stopped the work. Otherwise they are one of the efficient company in india who are well known to create best infrastructure. They also represent in UAE & Qatar and are handling big projects. Now the govt. has to be quite and polite or else there would be no highway at all. Govt. is at the mercy of Navayuga now.

There is no doubt that Jayaprakash Hegde is one of the best leader. Yesterday I was at Bajpe airpot waiting to receive someone. At that time I saw many leaders coming and a big group of people were following but when Jayaprakash Hegde came, he just walked into the car and just left the place just like a ordinary citizen, which truly pleased me and I thought to myself, he is a selfless man and will work for the people. I truly respect him. Regards,

Our man MP Nalin Kumar has gone on hibernation, might wake up just before Election boast all the success stories either he is involved or NOT but may take credit for that. He can only speak in TULU or Kannada where Safron group gather and can understand his level of experties and vision. He has no guts to come and face the interview in NAMMA TV.

Navayuga Krishnapatnam port co,the contractor for the highway is a company owned by Jaganmohan Reddy. He being in jail and bank accounts attached,no financial institution will ever lend to such entities.Practical every construction company from Andhra are owned by congress MPs who have mastered the art of bagging highway road projects and have a bad reputation of delays in completion.Whatever our MPs do,is all drama and people have to live with it.

It is perfect time for leaders like J P Hegde to impress the RTO to make sure they check on rash driving as well traffic rule enforcement.

Recently when I was in Udupi I saw chaotic traffic where people were over taking vehicles on the left side, many of the buses and trucks had non-functional signal (Stop, Turn) lights. People still don't have pathways or footpaths to walk.. Some of the vehicles were crossing on the divider lanes just to save some petrol, instead of taking a proper exit road.... This kind of blatant traffic rule breaking is unbecoming of our civil culture.. Time we raise our voice and make sure everyone of us start following the rules..
