Mangalore: JD(S) to hold convention in city on Feb 2

Mangalore, Jan 30: “JD(S) will hold a convention on Saturday February 2 at Abdul Nazir Saab stage, Central Ground, Farangipete at 2.30 pm”, said Shashiraj Shetty Kolambe, honorary president, convention publicity committee.

He addressed the presspersons at a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands on Wednesday January 30.

A procession will be taken out from Bunts Hostel to the district JD(S) office in Falnir at 11.30 am where the women’s workshop will be inaugurated. A press meet will be held in Bajal Jalligudde at 1.30 pm. A vehicle rally will be taken out from Kannur at 2 pm, to Farangipete, after which a huge convention will begin, he informed.

The programme will be inaugurated by H D Kumaraswamy, former chief minister, JD(S) state president. M B Sadashiva, DK district JD(S) president will preside over the function. Many other state and district leaders like M C Nanayya, B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan, Iqbal Ansari, Madhu Bangarappa, Zafrulla Khan, Afzal Afah Khan, K Amarnath Shetty, B Nagaraj Shetty, Shakeel Ahmed, Shivalinge Gowda, S L Bhojegowda, Elias Sanctis, Prasad Babu, Sadanand Shetty, Vasanth Poojary and many others will participate in the convention, he added.

JD(S) Leader, Vasanth Poojary, Mohammed Kunhi Vittla, Rathnakar Suvarna, Hasan Bava, F H Aboobaker, Haji V H Abdul Kareem among others were present during the press meet.
