Mangalore, Jan 31: Activists belonging to Bajrang Dal on Thursday January 31 reportedly assaulted a couple who allegedly shared an illicit relationship.

A girl employeed at a service centre at Pumpwell was reportedly involved in an affair with the firm's manager who is from a different religion.

The girl had got married to another man about six months ago.

It is said that Bajrang Dal had kept an eye on the couple for many days. The couple used to go on drives frequently in the man's car, sources said.

On Thursday, the activists waylaid the car near Kankanady New Road and allegedly assaulted the couple.

Kadri police arrived at the spot and took the couple to the police station for questioning.

Are our law and order personnel half dead or living in a blind world? This goondagiri of Bajarangis should be stopped immediately and these goonds should be arrested and placed in jails. No Mangalorean in their right minds can support this kind of goondaism.

We are not a medival theocratic society that we need this kind of street thugs to enforce moral code on people.

If people do morally wrong things out of their own free will, then it is up to them and their families, it is nobody else's business. We do not need thugs keeping an eye on people in Mangalore.

What strikes me most, is that some people are justifying this as they are from different religions. I religion the only thing that goes on in these people's minds.

I never realized that Mangalore would descend to this state of tribalism.

In most of the work place related cases it is a give and take relationship, in that it is symbiotic, both are benefiting for whatever reason known to them!!

Whichever belief, whichever age, when both are adult consenting individuals then only the affected partner with this cheating and the close family has the right to interfere and confront, not any unconnected individual or entity!!

I wonder what is happening to law & order in our city these days? who has given right to these jobless goons to attack couples / attack ice cream parlours & similar/ why are police arresting innocent victims and not these goondas who dare to do such things?
Does this attitude of Police, Protectors of our law & city, speak positive ot negative? Why havent police arrest the goondas who have attacked these people than take the victims to the station to humiliate further? Now are police protecting these goons or protecting us common citizens of the city - is a question to be answered. Or does this make life much easier to police department coz these goons are in action? I am really very surprised with the series of incidents.
Does power of politics play on our systems to curb freedom of police and other concerned authorities?

If any couple traveling in car called it is illicit?. Judging the relationships is nobody's work it is individual. The Name of the Bagrang Dal should be Changed to "B*****D D*GS"

R Vasudevan/Raghu Poojary, these kind of extra marital affairs are very very common with those working especially in metro cities like Mumbai for varied reasons best known to those indulging in it!! You should yourself work at least in a call center in Mumbai and see for yourself what is going on!!! There are instances where despite the husband knowing about the affair prefers to turn a Nelsons eye again for reasons best known to him!!!

It is very common to see men and women carry stock of contraceptives, Ipill in their wallets!!

Who is anybody outside the inner family circle to force his views and ethics and punish on two consenting individuals?? At the most one can do is to inform the family people concerned of the alleged affair, nothing beyond that!!

By this I do not for a single percentage point support infidelity/immorality but it is a fact of life!!

Married man should not have illicit affair! But married woman can, if she is not getting proper love and respect from husband. After all, it is the man's responsibility to take care of his wife, otherwise he should not be married in the first place.

So in this case, Bajrang Dal is right in royally thrashing married man in front of public. If he want to have affair, then, divorce the wife and have affair. Married men should not do any two-timing.

    Mr. Raghu Poojary ,
I fully agree with your comments.I too have come across such cases.Every body tries to be comfortable at their work place and try to take best advantage of the opportunities available. This does not mean they have illicit affair. Listen,In marriage the lady is handed over to the man. We call it as Kanyadhan. It is that mans responsibility to take care of her. Any good or bad happens he is the one who enjoys or suffers. It is their affair and they will sort it out. Why should I,U or the BD's interfere .There are ways and authoriries to solve such problems. If your wife or relative is involved in such activity and I send a group of goondas to thrash the illicit couple will you tolerate? NO. Cos the wife is yours and it is your problem and you have to solve it. Not the general public.
If every Tom, Dick and Harry interferes in others affairs why do we need laws and the police force.Got my point.

First of all why a third person has to keep an eye on any one’s private life. There are many such incidents happening with high profiled people. Does anyone have guts to assault them? These are private, sensitive family matters which has to be resolved at family front or at family court. What are the family members there for? If the family is really concerned they could have hired a private detective. What was the necessity for them to make it public? Highly condemned act by BD. By the way what is the social message we are getting from these acts? I’m not against any sanghas. But please first behave yourself. You also have a family. No need of physical violence. If your goals are towards creating a better society, change your mannerism.

I am telling everyone who have given their comments here. Look, one of my frends' office, three married ladies having an illicit activity with a man who is head of the regional office. This illicit activity is going on since from several years because only for getting good incrments, promotion, less work at the work place and many other things. These idiots are nothing doing at the office and getting the work done from their subordinates by passing order due to high handed influence of regional head. Such illicit activities are going on in many private organisations, however, whoever commented here may not be knowing and hence, they are targetting some social organisations. Its so unfortunate to note that, DK Police have worn Bangles and mute spectators while arresting the wounded couple for questioning while have let the culprits scot free for bashing them up. Police Commissioner is sitting pretty in his plush office owning no moral responsibility for the spate of affairs in his District. He should be chased away from DK for his silence in the matter. He has no right to lead the crippled district under his regime.
For whatever wrong this couple is doing( which is strictly objectionable in the interest of Hindu marriage act) bashing up is not the answer. Insted the BD should have warned them of the consequences and informed the police for action . By taking law into their hands in all these and earlier actions, Dal has proved that they are not fit to live in the one time Beautiful and peaceful district. They should be punished for their misdoings. Else DK Police have to quit the District and give way for better people to protect DK.

Instead arresting the goons from Bajrangdal, they arrested the couple, employer and employee going out together. How can anyone ascertain, that they were having illicit affair? Were the Bajrangdal guys snooping in the bedroom, or a private place and saw them having affair. Going out together does not imply that they were having illicit affair, nor persons of different religion going out either. The government should take severe against the police guys, who arrested these people. First of all, to eradicate this menace, you have to arrest Kalladka Prabhakara Bhat and throw him in prison. He is the 'snake in the grass' who is slyly leading and giving support to these goons. If you seize Sharan Pumpwell's mobile phone, you can most definitely get K P Bhat's mobile no. stored in there and that is ample proof for catching these 2 goons as there are hand in glove in most of these kind of activities.

Second, the couple's are consenting ADULTS, not children. They take responsibnlity for their actions and if they were caught in this illicit affair by their families, they'd then had have to face the brunt and the wrath of their families. Bajrang Dal is no one to interfere in people's private matters and illicit affairs. If they have any guts, let them come to Manipal and see the hanky-panky that happens between students in the park, bars, and other isolated places. But they will not go there, because the big fish of manipal is a major fund / money raiser for the BJP, and no one will touch him, even though students do all sorts of nonsense (including taking drugs) under his very nose. Also, most of the bars in Manipal are owned by BJP party workers, so they are very well protected by these same goons.

Third, our police is helpless when political organisations interfere in letting go off the goons and not letting the police prosecute these BD goons for taking the law into their hands.

This is the result of BJP being voted into power. It is all about divide and rule for them. BJP is desperate to win the next elections and will continue to harass the people into submission so as to indirectly vote for them.

First they should try to solve their own problems at home than they can go to teach some others. They think that all good works are done by them only.
Dear friends i am not telling that now days what's happening our around,it is not good, But please try to do good things to our country and save our country from all these illegal activities. Are these goons jobless or they get paid for few blows by BD and enjoy life. These young guys should be constructive and aggresive in ahieving meaningful life by supporting their families financially and mentally by doing good deeds. India needs youngsters. What our representatives like Palemar, Yogish Bhat doing?
Why no response since 5 years about these illegal private hooligans let lose on citizens who thought their forefathers have fought & got FREEDOM on 15th August of 1947?
Do they want these lawless thugs to collect HAFTA for their next election FUND?
Do they want us civilians to
Fund a Civil Army to counter these terrorists like in Naxalite areas?

It is observed that the attacks on people are on the increase. Just the other day college students at a restaurant were assaulted. Now a couple while they were in a came under attack. It is difficult to understand the logic behind this attitude.

These so called good people with high moral principals have no authority to attack any one. If they mean well - they can only inform the department of law and order and let them deal with the situation. It almost appears that they are working with authority.

Tomorrow if a young man is driving a lady - Is it to be assumed that they are having illicit relationship. It is time the law enforcement department come down on these self styled Good People.

We have now a good Police Department with fine officers like the Inspector General of Police, Commissioner of Police, Supt. of Police and others and it is my sincere hope that they make a note of the situation and take remedial measures to curb this kind of moral policing.

if it is said so in the indian constitution then it is the work of the law enforcment dept i.e the lawyers and police to take care of such issues , not me not you or any other layperson who does not even know the c of constitution !
we need the freedom to walk in the streets of mangalore without fear of being beaten up by some stranger. If we need moraling it should be done and instilled in schools, homes and churches ,temples or mosques. Not by physical abuse by strangers.Fear does not change a person's behaviour, attitude or moral them .Beatin up some1 only creates rebelliousness, suppreses ppl and encourages violence.

BD terrorsits have too much time on thier hands.

Instead of wasting thier time in these ILLEGAL activities which is NONE of thier business, they can contribute to the society by joining the Indian Army to defend the country or do some social work by helping the poor, the sick and the down trodden -"ASK NOT WHAT THE COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY"- That would be gracious and uplifting to the society, state & country as a whole.

Only that way can India rise & shine. Instead we are go going the "MALI" way and destroying our society and the way of future fulfillment!

It's time we Mangloreans wake up and put an end to these illegal decietful, shameful, religious terrorism by BD by way of not only actions and then forgetting about it the next day but proper follow up and implementation.

It is stupid act by Bajrang Dal. At any cost, the government must stop this type of repeating incidents. We all must think about some BD people who always claim as moral police.

    1. Are they employed or just roaming as street dogs?
    2. Are they well disciplined at home and really care for their family or burden to their family?
    3. Is there any criminal background, neighbor’s complaints, or any sort illegal activities by these gang people?
    4. What they are doing for living?
    5. Do the authorities to do such activities or investigation approve them?
    6. Why media is NOT publishing their names, photos, and details of BD people who involved such incidents?
    7. What will happen if a person dies or become disabling for lifetime after these BD people attacked them in such horrible way? What is the law says?
    8. Why adults cannot go with their friends to have coffee, ice cream, or visit some park and talk? Is it illegal by our constitution?
    9. After all BD is doing all illegal activities and crimes, why the law & order department is quite? Why the Chief Minister, Home minister of Karnataka state is not giving any statement or strict action against such criminals?
    10. If it found that, the BD is wrong what punishment these stupid BD people will get. Why the media is not publishing such things?

Time for all to think about such organization and I really admire why the RSS is not doing such thing. It is only VHP, Bajarg Dal, and Rama Sene always in the picture. Is it sponsored by RSS and BJP?????

Why such incidents are occurring again and again in our Mangalore. Who has given power to Bajrang Dal goons to interfere others personal matters. Why our Home Ministry and Police department is not in a position to stop such atrocities by Bajrang Dal activists. Home Ministry has miserably failed in maintaining Law and Order in the State. Goonda Raj has taken over the administration.BD is acting like Taliban. I appeal concerned authorities to act immediately to put an end to such crimes and take action against those taking law in their hands.

Attacks of MMPF (Mangalore Moral Police Force) is limited to the poor, middle class and the helpless. They are spineless when it comes to dealing with rave parties in posh hotels in the city or illicit affairs of rich and the famous. Apart from the above two, there are much more nasty evils around us. For instance, there’s hardly a wine shop in the town that doesn't indulge in selling liquor in loose illegally. There’s moolah in black exchanging hands in crores in real estate deals everyday, why does the real police or MMPF turn a blind eye to this?

I am amazed what is their problem if two grown up adults are involved ? it's stupid . at the most they could do was inform their respective spouses and there are enough rules in our country for adultry. who cares about adultry.. will these BD goodas take care of the problems faced by these 2 adults supposedly involved in adultery in their respective marriage. give a break man.. you cant keep going on beating people on road like this. REASON AND TIME IS RIPE TO BAN GOONDA ORG,BD AND THE WAY THEY ARE THREATENING CIVILIZED SOCIETY IS A CHALLENGE TO SECURITY FORCES.FOR EVERYBODY'S SURPRISE THERE IS NO NEWS ABOUT THE ARREST OF ASSAULTERS AND A POINT OF PONDER IS HOW THESE THINGS HAPPENING IN THE EDUCATED DISTRICT OF KARNATAKA.GOVT IS IN COMA AND BUSY WITH PATCH AND BUSY WITH COUNTER ASSAULT PLAN TO OPPN PARTY AND PARTICULARLY FOR KJP. IT IS HEIGHT OF IRRESPONSIBILITY ON THE PART OF GOVT TO BE MUTE SPECTATORS FOR BD's GOONDAISM/TALIBAN CULTURE.

We all of Civilized Mangaloreans and Public in and around consider this Act of Bajrang Dal as Gunda Act, Terrorism, Social Evil and Communal and Moral Policing. Why the Cops are for....??? How they took only the couple into investigation??? why these cops have not run to catch these Bajrangis???? Mangalore cops' duties are somewhat fishy... If they don't take the Bajrangi goons into task, Someone from the Public will have to file the Littigation to the Court regarding the inefficient and ineffectiveness of Cops in Mangalore.

When congress was in power in Karnataka all these things were unheard of. Politicians are always corrupt be it congress or BJP but at least some peace was there during congress rule.this is the result of continuously voting for the Beedi Janagala party.

There is a saying that 'you should never put an eye on other man's wife' but there is also saying 'if our own pot is having hole, why to blame others...'
Now a days people almost started accepting that it's not a big deal to have an illict affair..

Just observe here one true factThe Mangalore Police are helpless before Safron Gundas. The Respected Civil Authority wil surely take an action on these Goons. If they are not they should be considered irresponsible.

Is she the property of Bajrang dal. What right do they have? Give them the same punishment as given to the Delhi rapists.
Pink giant slipper wake up.This is below tolerance.Just a march with a candle is not sufficient. Show it in action. There should be a full stop for this rowdism.

Well done BD. One more step towards the direction of eliminating the moral degradation prevailing in the society. Wish you could deploy such units in most of the cities in India so that people could have element of fear in them before committing any immoral act.

This is nothing but 'Saffron Terror' and BD is institutionalizing the Moral Policing like that of Taliban. Police are acting like 'impotents' instead of taking actions against the mischief mongers.

I think Mangalore heading for jungle raaj as turn of events unfolding every day involving BD.Police force/Police station must be close down shutter because POLICE can't catch law breakers instead BD goondas are making big hue and cry for ICE CREAM/snack t by male with female friends, TALKING ON THE ROAD BY MIXED (LINGAS) also illegal /prohibited and even law of land also taking with their own hand un abated .Police force are mute spectators.Law and Order in Mangalore City is completely break down and Police can do nothing to control it.GUV sir, please intervene to bring peace and tranquility particularly in Mangalore City.

Who the L is BD to involve themselves. They r nobody to interfere. We have the concerned departments to do their duties. Who has given them the authority. In other cities in India much worse is happening. Why are the police not doing anything to them. They have no right to attack ANYONE!!!
