Dubai: Magnificent Badagutittu Yakshagana enthralls audience

Dubai, Feb 2: 'Yakshaganakalavrunda' hosted a magnificent Badagutittu Yakshagana show 'Madhura Mahindra' by artistes from the coastal region of Karnataka, India on Sunday February 1 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai.

Chief guest for the occasion, noted Mangalore-based advocate P P Hegde, who is also the all-India president of 'Youth for Nation' inaugurated the programme in the presence of chairman of Fortune Group of Hotels Praveen Shetty, Shivanand Hebbar of Sapil group and Sathish Venkataramana of Chilly Willy.

Stalwarts from Poornachandra Yakshakala Prathistana, Khumbhashi, Kundapur along with guest artistes enthralled the gathering. Keshava Hegde Kolagi was the main Bhagavathar of this Yakshagana prasanga supported by Shankara Bhagavata Yellapura in Maddale and Laxminarayana Rao Sampa in Chende. The artistes included Ramachandra Hegde Kondadhakuli, Shankara Hegde Nilkod, Nagendra Murooru, Sanjaya Beliyur, Shreedhara Hegde Chapparamane, Shekara Uppinangadi, Ganapathi Hegde Thotimane, Ashoka Bhat Siddhapura and Giridhar Nayak Mittabile.

The maiden venture, undertaken to promote Badagutittu Yakshagana in the Gulf regions, was organized in aid of Yakshagana artistes back home.

Praveen Shetty of Fortune Group of Hotels was the main sponsor, while Satish Venkataramana of Chilly Willy Trading and Shivanand Hebbar of Sapil Style Scents were the co-sponsors.

Arathi Adiga compered the programme. All the artistes and sponsors were felicitated on the occasion.

    Thanks to Mr. Praveen Shetty and his team, UAE art lovers had the golden opportunity to witness Badagutittu Yakshagana. This is a complete theatrical form and the young generation should preserve and carry it forward. Long Live Badagutittu Yakshagana.
