Update

Mangalore, Feb 2: As per the latest information, it has now been confirmed that police raid on a music cafe at Valencia here on Saturday February 2 was to avoid a possible attack by Bajrang Dal.

Initial reports reports stated that police had raided the G6 Music Cafe based on a tip-off from Bajrang Dal as the cafe was running illegally.

However, reliable sources said that Bajrang Dal had allegedly planned an attack on the music cafe over 'immoral activities'. Pandeshwar police received prior information about the attack and hence reached the spot to avert any possible attack.

As it is was taken as a police raid initially, frightened students at the DJ party ran out and escaped. However, police intended to clear the place to protect them from harm, said a police official speaking to Daijiworld.

But on inspection of the spot, the police learnt that the place was running illegally and had licence only to run a bar and not for hosting live bands or DJ music. The police then conducted a raid and removed all DJ sets and other equipment.

A live band was scheduled to perform on Saturday night.

Sources said that the bar is owned by the son of a higher police official in the city.

Why should illegal and immoral activities be only limited to music and and dance? Isn't selling cigarettes to minors by majority community traders, or giving goods by trader in plastic bag inspite of ban, or paying cash for big ticket items instead of cheque to avoid tax all illegal as per law?

Of course our uneducated, beedi brothers cannot understand all these kinds of complicated things in life. Beedi brothers only fit for walking in lungi, eating paan and spitting on roadside, then making su**u on side road (all definitely indian culture) and harrassing business owners for haftha and pub attack...useless, jobless buggers

I came to Mangalore a couple of years ago, and the music cafe at Mangala was the first place I visited. I have never witnessed any antisocial activity here, and I am quite a regular. At the end of the day, it is up to us, the people to stand up and voice out. The rest will fall into place. Nothing gets fixed automatically.

Everybody is talking about BD and minority! nobody is interested in the illegal and immoral activities that were taking place there!!! whats wrong with the people! being minority doesnt mean that they can run immoral and illegal activities. Illegal is illegal, does nt matter who does it, either minority or majority... I think BD has done the right thing by informing the police about these immoral and illegal activities, which helped the police to prevent this. if you think there are so many illegal activities taking place around you, inform the police and help them or make them to stop these activities, instead of just complaining... and 'planning to attack' and all are bu!!$#!t, just to drift away the people's focus from 'Illegal and immortal activities'. Excellent job by BD. Other organisations should also help the police in preventing such illegal activities.

So if other people quite at home, these BD goons can do whatever they want at steet know the inner meaning. What illegal activities is going on in mangalore? Are they planning to attack other peace loving people like BD planning? These illegal activities they are doing for thier own livelihood not to disturb others. Why are 'sadak chaap' Bajrangis/Senas/Vedikes acting like the custodians of Hindu culture?

Hindu Culture has survived against all other cultures, grown & flourished for thousands of years.

Then why should Hindu community from Coastal belt bank on an organanization like BJP backed Bajrangis (which has been around for a few decades) to safe guard our culture?

Are we so scared that any other foreign culture will wipe out our culture?

The answer is no. Only Uneducated, lumpen, cheap and low life youth join Bajnrang Dal/Vedikes/Senas for pocket money,

In reality they and their political masters i.e. BJP have NO UNDERSTANDING of our age old, progressive and great culture.

This is pure vote bank drama!!

Do you need peace at Mangalore region, then put “Full Stop” somewhere so than goons from BD or Sene will not take the law in their hands whereby allowing many Vedike or Associations follow them next. These illegal business activities going on for many years now, but now we come to know what’s happening around Mangalore and why the real estate prices are gone up. Is it BD is dominating police force or police force is dominating BD. Confused men. We pay taxes which covers policemens payroll to provide security to public which is policemen obligated perform the tasks and put behnd bars of criminals who is harming the society. At this point no one given the authority in a democratic world to BD to raid houses, bars, ice cream parlour, pubs, churches, temples, mosques etc. So what the he!! our law is doing to protect the public and ban and put behind these criminals who is interfering in others life for no reasons. Enough is enough people. we don't like India turning like taliban style where no one is safe and secure even the ladies are like prioners and relgions like hatred towards others. Policemen either give up their jobs and salaries paid by us to them and join BD or perform job honestly to safeguards the citizen of the nation. Dear progressive minded people of Mangalore-Udupi,

If you intend to put an end to this nuisance from such radical fringe groups then you will have to boot out its political affiliatei i.e. BJP. Supporting BJP = increased atrocities of such fanatic talibanized groups like Bajrang Dal, Senas, vedikes. It will only ruin our peace. Mangalore-udupi will never progress, companies and big brands might eventually wind up, companies will be reluctant to set up base here and decent youngsters will flee from this place resulting in brain drain!!.

    2. Is it constitutionally allowed for Bajarang Dal to attack the illegal music cafe ?
    3. Why action only on Music cafe and NO action on ILLEGAL attackers?

Mangalore in NO SAFE ZONE.Soon these Goondas will be everywhere, Films, talkies, bar, marriage and birthday parties, churches and mosques, even near schools and colleges. Unauthorired music cafe means its illegal to run the show. suitable action as deemed fit as per law and rules has to be takken by the Police Department. This is the second time this hotel is targetted. Why this BD and other organisations find fault with everyone here in Mangalore. Why other places are not targetted hough lot of irregularies and illegal activities are going on. I think its too much. If if such attitudes are going on BJP will lose its majority and C-definitely Congress will come to power this time and the aftermath result will be different. Let us watch and see.

Now here is a party during the day! in daylight, not in some isolated obscure hidden location,....also there are no drugs or any illegal substances of abuse,...nor is there any 'immoral' activity going on,....so at this rate does it mean that we need special permission even to listen to music at a party in the afternoons on a saturday ! people need to have some recreation, at least on the weekneds. if this trend goes on, tomorrow somebody will enter our house and tell us which tv channel to watch and not to watch!
