Mangalore: ABVP raises concern over drug menace

Daijiworld Media Network –Mangalore (DV)

Mangalore, Feb 4: ABVP activists formed human chain at Basaveshwara Circle in the city and demanded the district administration to take stringent action against drug mafia which claimed the life of 18-year-old girl Sneha.

Addressing the protestors ABVP state secretary Ramesh said, “Dakshina Kannada district is a leading district in state. There are many reputed education institutions, and students from all over the country come here to pursue their education. Innocents students like Sneha fall prey to such mafia.”

ABVP demands stern action against drug mafia, he said.

ABVP Mangalore urban organizing secretary Vinay Horatti said that the incident has awakened the whole society.  Some miscreants make innocent youths as their victims. Why don't the police notice the wide drugs network prevalent in the city, he questioned.

Police should form separate wing to put an end to drug rackets, the culprits should be severely punished. Even the parents should keep a watchful eye over their children at home. The district administration immediately should organize meeting with the student union leaders, educational management and public representatives to bring an end to drug mafia, he added.

    Reality,

You are blabbering as if me and Jossy stood along the route they were passing and hooted them in support for their protest against Home-Stay attack !!!

Look gentleman, may it be Home-Stay, Rosa Mistica or Canara School episode - all had the involvement of the goons for a wrong reason. Don't call us FBI, use your commonsense and ponder over why the BD had to wait until the girl died and then boasted that this is what they wanted to prove through their various attacks in the city.

The students' job is studying not wasting their parents hard-earned money that is paid in fees, let alone getting addicted to drugs.

They should have instead pulled the student back from wrong company and made the administration aware than going for this kind of publicity !

Reality, Mangalore. Lot of guys like you don’t bother to read the news item but read only comments. Kindly read the previous news story where the girl’s father has stated that time and again she has gone missing but only BD guys could trace and get her back. Last time she was picked up from Manipal by BD guys. BD guys tough uneducated are also experts in knowing which vehicle is carrying cattle or supplying beef and Karnataka police depend heavily on their intelligence. Now tell me who is FBI of Mangalore?

How can you ask for taking action ABVP ? Didn't you stage a protest over disciplinary action taken against a student by one of very acclaimed institutions in the city ? You took the help of saffron gang then - now see, the very gang may have killed one of you ! You deserve it !
