Mangalore: Track down drug mafia, or face protest - Rama Sene

Mangalore, Feb 6: "Drug mafia in Dakshina Kannada has been mushrooming at a brisk rate. The district administarion has to take immediate against this menace," said Kumar Malemar of Sri Ram Sene.

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, February 6 he raised concern over the recent suicide of Sneha, a drug victim, and demanded action against the drug mafia.

"Whenever there is an attack by the saffron outfits, some so-called intelligent people start protesting against their action, but where are they hiding when the drug mafia has taken the life of a girl?" he questioned.

"Earlier it was a girl by name Ashwitha and today it is Sneha who have lost their lives to drug menace. But the district administration has not yet made up its mind to take action against the drug mafia, as there is a strong political hand behind such incidents and that there is involvement of many political leaders and their close associates with the mafia," he alleged.

"Subash Padil and 37 others who fought against such menace are still behind bars (home stay attack). Some high-end restaurants and hotels like and malls and many others have been running illegal DJs and discotheques, which are the main hubs of drug mafia. Hence Sri Ram Sene highly condemns this," he said.

"If the district administration does not take strict action against drug menace, Sri Ram Sene is ready to fight the mafia in the coming days," he warned.

Jeevan Neermarga, Ganesh Attavar, Mahesh Bhat and Mohan Padavinangady were present.

Admittedly the Drug Mafia has deep roots in Mlore, the recent deaths are proofs. Our Lawmakers and keepers are on their Payroll. Do you think without the legal clout the mafias would have operated so succesfully? Now lets see if this Sene 'walks their talk'. Lets not go by looks. Give them a chance.

Police raids will fall silent within a day or two as there is no will power.

The sad part is people rely more on BD,SRS etc than police.

Come what may, BD/SRS, you have the informers and your own intelligence. Please lift one and extract the drug supply chain and then hand them over to the police. That is the only way out in this case.

Where were they so far? whenever suh incdents ocur then they protest. Otherwise they go and attack bars, homestay and other places just to get publicity. They should have come together and protested or even met the Higher police authorities, Distriict Administration etc to curb these drug mafia and their other activites. Now the student sneha had become a victim and she is deat everybody raises their voice and even police have also become alert to raid some shops and detected few cases. Otherwise nobody is bothered about these things. Really funny.

I oppose your comments, I noticed since many years Intelligent, rich people & Police will never come to take care of these issues & to rescue anyone. We should not blame RSS & BJ every time. This time they are doing at least good work for the betterment of society. If we loose our child in drug addict then only we will come to know, how much pain we have. Others child means we just ignore it. This is not called humanity. Now this generation most of the children are became very rude & arrogant. They don't listen as well as they don't even bothered about their parents advice.

That is like a good boy. Protest peacefully and compel concerned authorities to take action through legal channels against the evil & we all....I mean we all are with you. However, taking law into your hands, physical assault, molesting girls (in the name of protecting them), stealing others belongings like Jackets, Chains, Cake etc. is not at all tolerable. Also, keep your shirt buttons properly closed at least while Press Conferences. You do not have to prove what you are to public by your appearance.
