Boat capsizes in Bangladesh


Dhaka, Feb 8 (IANS): A boat carrying about 100 passengers capsized Friday in Meghna river in Bangladesh's Munshiganj district, a media report said Friday. Some of the passengers managed to swim ashore.

The boat capsized after it hit a sand-laden vessel, reported the Daily Star.

The Chandpur-bound boat carrying around 100 passengers started from Narayanganj launch terminal at 7 a.m.

Witnesses said some of the passengers managed to swam ashore after the launch capsized around 8 a.m.
