Woman gives birth to five children in Dubai hospital

Dubai, Feb 12 (Emirates 24X7): A Syrian mother, Ranim Amir Borak, has given birth to quintuplets – three boys and two girls – via caesarean section at a hospital in Dubai.

The children, born prematurely, are currently at the hospital’s neonatal unit and are in a stable condition.  The children were conceived naturally after five years of marriage.

Dr. Khaled Kouteich, Consultant OB-Gynecologist – Saudi German Hospital Dubai, who delivered the children, said: “During the course of Ranim’s pregnancy she faced several complications, mainly due to the multiple fetuses she was carrying. Although Ranim’s condition was highly complex and challenging, Saudi German Hospital-Dubai was confident of successfully delivering the children. Interestingly, we were in for a pleasant surprise during the caesarean section. All the previous ultrasound scans only showed four fetuses, but during the operation we were delighted to find a fifth baby. The mother and babies are recovering well, and we will be offering all possible support to the family during their stay at the hospital.”

SGH-Dubai features 300 hospital beds as well as new and ultramodern healthcare infrastructure within a 90,000 sq. meter, five-storey facility. Saudi German Hospitals Group - Dubai is committed to bringing advanced German healthcare standards and technology to the Middle East and Africa. It has pioneered several surgical methods in the Middle East and remains a key figure in introducing innovative healthcare technologies and best practices. Congratulations to the parents of the newly born quintuplets. We pray for the parents as well as the babies for god health. It is God gifted and above all a miracle. Even the doctors were not sure how man babies would be born. Great effort by the GYN doctors, nurses and other staff who made the delivery possible in a safe way.
