Fr Tauro was down to earth , simple person . His concern for poor, sinners and for the people who have lost hope in life was unexplainable. He had lead a inspiring and challenging life. His truthful life has given him lot of fame, lot of love of people, lot of criticism too, but he was a blessed person who strive to bring light and salvation into people's life. He lived for people, they may be rich, poor or marginalized. We pray to almighty to grant him eternal life. RIP

Rev. Fr. J.P. Tauro was really a “People’s priest”.
In the 2000, I approached him when I was Parish priest of Kollangana, a backward village parish in Kasargod Dist. It was erected a parish just to two years back and basic amenities were lacking at the inception.
I briefed him about my plan for the parish especially to train the people through awareness programmes and education of the children , women and youth. He was impressed and asked me to put it into writing and send. He convinced his parish council of Bendur church about our programme. He even brought his team to visit Kollangana.
Then onwards he was helping that parish for various programmes like tuitions for poor students, summer camps, youth training camps, scholarships for students etc. Later Fr. Peter Noronha also continued it for few more years.
All his efforts had paid off and bore fruit in later years in that parish. “We need to train our people and they would build their own destiny” he would say, “ Poor people have lot of good will”.
We have lost a great visionary.I pray to the Lord to give eternal rest to our beloved Fr. J. P. Tauro.

We lost a great visionary. He was a far sighted personality, which many could not realize. He managed to paralyze the resitance with persistence and succeded in his mission. Above all he was a simple and humble priest ended his journey of this world and left for heavenly abode. We miss you Fr. Tauro.
