Mangalore: Bengre Amin bags two gold medals in Potdar swimming championship

Mangalore, Feb 18: Syndicate Bank employee and ace swimmer Bengre Anand Amin has made Mangalore proud by winning two gold and two silver medals at the 13th Mihir Anil Potdar Invitational Age Group Day and Night Swimming Championship held at RCSA Swimming Pool, Goaves, Belgaum recently.
He represented Syndicate Bank Recreation Club in the championship hosted by Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum.
Amin won gold medals in 50 meter free style and 50 meter breaststroke, and silver medals in 50 meters butterfly and 50 meter backstroke, adding to the pool of more than 400 medals earned in his lifetime in swimming alone.
He is also a celebrated wrestler, having bagged almost all the prestigious state-level titles held at Belgaum, Mysore besides Mangalore. Recently he won wrestling title along with cash award in the third edition Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Kreedotsava, Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshawara Temple, Badaga Yedapadavu, Mijar, Mangalore.
An employee of Syndicate Bank, Anand Amin is now serving in Mangalore branch of the Bank and is a member of Mangalore Aquatic Club.
