Bangalore : Two senior BJP leaders knock on Congress doors

Narayana Swamy
Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Feb 21: It's time for 'migration' fest in political parties. BJP seems to be the biggest loser this time  as over a dozen BJP MLAs and ministers have already migrated to Yeddyurappa's KJP fold. Another senior leader, Shankaralingegowda from Mysore who has won elections under the BJP four times, announced his resignation from the party to join JD(S) on Wednesday February 20.

According to the latest reports, state forest minister C P Yogeswar (former sandalwood actor), also known as No 1 enemy of state Congress leader D K Shivakumar has surprisingly made a move back to his former party Congress. The news from political circles is that he made a secret peace pact with D K Shivakumar so that he could be back to Congress, from where he had migrated to BJP three years back.

Another surprise move was by Belur Gopalakrishna, MLA from Sagar constituency who is popularly known as 'jumping jack' in BJP, as he changed his loyalty from Yeddyurappa to Janardhana Reddy, and then again from Reddy to Yeddyurappa, and finally from Yeddyurappa to Shettar in less than five years of his MLA tenure. Now he is reportedly knocking on Congress doors.

"Karnataka has more than 60 lac people from the Ediga community, but BJP has done nothing for them and has not even given them proper representation," said Belur, after enjoying five years of power with the BJP. Belonging to Ediga community, Belur has followers from the community in his constituency.

"Though Jagadish Shettar promised me a berth in his last cabinet reshuffle, some unknown forces within the BJP prevented me from becoming minister. I was hurt by this move, so I decided to leave BJP. I will decide on which party to join," said Belur to mediapersons, without disclosing Congress party's name.

It is learnt that Kagod Thimmappa, a prominent Congress leader from Sagar may not contest this election due to advancing age. If Congress promises a ticket to Belur, then his entry into Congress will be official within a day or two.

Remember when Mamata Banerjee left UPA, Khan gress commented that she is headache and better she left. I am sure BJP Karnataka must be also feeling the same. So many Congi supporters who were critical about these MLA's now praising them. What a shame!.How you people can open your mouth against operation Kamala! How so called communal people will become secular in a COMMUNAL KHANGRESS PARTY?

HOW YOU CAN TALK ABOUT SIDDANTHA? The very interesting thing is Mr. S. Shiv Kumar of Khan gress is dead against C.P.Yogishwar. Don't be surprised if one faction of Congi revolt and split.

I think BJP should not worry about some leaders deserting the party in old mysore regions. Anyway most of them were imports from oher parties and they are samperig back to thier old parties since they know very well that they will not get the tickets from BJP. BJP need to prepare for the Lok Sabha elections due in 2015, fortify thier presence in North Karnatak and Coastal Karnataka and allow congress to run the state govt for next 5 years along with these cheamelons. The urban elections in March will be a pointer o where things stand.

It is time to bring certain fundamental changes in our electoral rules, procedures and provisions. Any person who is a member of a political party, when changes his or her loyalty and becomes member of another party should not be allowed or he / she should made ineligible to contest election as a candidate of that party for a minimum of 4 years. Let them first work for the party and be eligible for contesting. This will stop all kinds of Operation Kamala or Operation Election Time Migration. Hope the statesmen of this country take initiative in this regard as early as possible

There were 50 plus MLAs applied for Congress party membership! It was scrutinized for 25 and sent to AICC!!In the process some veteran Congress politicians objected to the list and hence not given GO AHEAD from Congress H.Command! As a matter of fact, this is what they did get from OPERATION KAMALA.If opportunity were given I think 75% BJP MLAs will desert the party and I think only original RSS politicians will remain in the party!!!

Where is SAIDANTIKA PRINCIPLES of these politicians? Why they(BJPwalas)trying to make polarization between the communities when they were in BJP?Therefore, politicians are not bothered about any principle but to make PRINCIPAL AMOUNT only. Why this happened to CADRE BASED PARTY?A question may hound to all RSS BASED POLITICIANS in BJP.Can BJP learn a lesson hereafter?A MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION.

These opportunists people will join any party that they forsee whcih can save their money generating intrests. They do not join any party by adopting the party principles be it Congress BJP or JDS. Having them will only create chaos with the original partymen who have been serving the party for long time and not getting the due. This is what happend in BJP, while doing Operation Kamala, they dint think about all such things, just inducted people left right & center just to keep the numbers, and now it has started back biting. AM sure even if congress agrees to take them, they would be kept at a bay in desk, else it will be more problem with the orginal congressmen, or for the sake of votes & notes.....we never know.

BJP is facing heavy incumbency in the state and leaders themselves acknowledge this fact by knocking doors of other parties.

BJP despite having a solid majority never ruled the state well. They indulged in dirty communal games of harrassing and attacking minorities, pitting one community against the other, moral policing, anti farmer policies, poor infrastructure etc.

BJP's only agenda revolved around religion whereas people of Karnataka were interested in progress and development. BJP never understood the pulse of this south Indian state.

As per recent reports the state has suffered, our State's Gross Domestic product (SGDP) has fallen from 10% in 2007 to around over 5 percent. Underthis government, we are heading no where!!!

Congress has most prospect of winning this election. It is like 'any candidate can win from congress' this time. Pulling the candidates from other party and giving them MLA ticket may counter work for congress. I feel congress hi-command should give ticket to the person who has sincerely worked for the party for last 5 years, not for the people who enjoyed with ruling party. Already there are many aspirants in the congress and many differences within as well. Giving ticket to outsiders may pour salt on burning wound. Hence I do not rule out the possibilities which Dinesh Poojary has explained.

Most of the leaders entering politics not with the intention of serving the nation(people) rather for personal gains.

Contesting election is a costly affairs. Why one would invest lakhs, if into crores, for fighting an election. If won, just like casino, he would make wealth good for his 10 generations to come. So, here too, politicians do change their political affiliations according to the wind direction. It is almost clear, BJP is a sinking ship and why one would wait until the last minute she capsizes in to deep ocean?
