Bangalore: Jolt to BJP as two more ministers quit

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Feb 21: Less than a month after the resignation drama hit the BJP in January, the Shettar government received another jolt on Thursday February 21, as two more of its ministers quit the ministry as well as from the primary membership of the party.

Forest minister C P Yogeshwar, as expected, and small scale industries minister Raju Gowda tendered their resignations to chief minister Jagadish Shettar.

They will be travelling to Madikeri later in the afternoon to meet speaker Bopaiah and give their resignations from the assembly.

The CM has reportedly cancelled his meetings for the afternoon in the wake of the new development.

Speaking to media persons, Yogeshwar and Raju Gowda expressed their gratitude to the BJP and the Shettar government of which they had been part. When asked the reason for resigning, they chose not to comment.

C P Yogeshwar is expected to join Congress soon.

The two resignations heightened the weeks-long speculation that at least a dozen members of the Shettar cabinet would quit before the assembly polls, a majority of them wanting to join the Congress.

The others were said to be going to Janata Dal-Secular or Karnataka Janata Party headed by former BJP chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.

Welcoming the move, former chief minister and KJP chief B S Yeddyurappa said that it is clear signs of BJP's sinking ship. "BJP will not be in power for the next ten years," he said.

In January, Shobha Karandlaje and C M Udasi had quit the cabinet and the party, along with several MLAs amid high drama that lasted over a week. They later joined the KJP.

Sources said that more resignations may be expected from the BJP camp in the coming days.

Besides Yogeshwar and Raju Gowda, the BJP is about to lose two more assembly members, - Belur Gopalakrishna from Shimoga district, and H S Shankaralinge Gowda from Mysore.

IF THESE TWO MINISTER'S RESIGNATION ACCEPTED,WHAT IS THE FATE OF SHETTAR MINISTRY?I THINK FUTURE ONE OR TWO WEEKS VERY CRUCIAL FOR THE SURVIVAL OF BJP GOVT IN KARNATAKA.

THIS EXODUS STARTED BECAUSE OF LOCAL BODY ELECTION AHEAD WHICH PRE PONED FENCE CROSSING POLITICIANS.

WHAT IS THE FATE OF BUDGET ENDORSEMENT IN ASSEMBLY?AS FEW MORE MINISTERS AND MLAs ARE PREPARING FOR A LONG JUMP FROM THE BJP.

HENCE,GUV MAY ASK SHETTAR TO SHOW MAJORITY IN ASSEMBLY VERY SOON AND IN THE EVENT OF NO ENDORSEMENT IN ASSEMBLY VOTE-ON-ACCOUNT IS LAST RESORT.LET US WAIT ANOTHER WEEK.

Really sad state of affairs for Karnataka as elected representatives are just party hoppers for fame and money.Yogeshwarayya might have got a clear indication that if he now Hops to Congress he can come back again and make some more money as History depicts.
Mr Raju Gowdru might have got a good offer from Kumaranna so that next elections he could win a seat from his town and make some quick money till government survives .
So its a Early prediction that due to this horse trade No Government (CONGRESS,JDS,KJP )will stay back till their term and serve the people as expected but will Involve in land, water, oil,Ore scams ,Communal tension ,Moral Policing etc .
SO THINK TO VOTE YES/NO CHOICE IS URS BUT DIFFERENCE IS UNCLEAR

So many Congi supporters who were critical about these MLA's now praising them. What a shame!.How you people can open your mouth against operation Kamala! The very interesting thing is Mr. S. Shiv Kumar of Khan gress is dead against C.P.Yogishwar. Don't be surprised if one faction of Congi revolt and split.

by here congrs and JDs will neglect the honest party leaders to give party ticket to current MLAs who joined there party recently.

congrs and JDs should give ticket to their own party leaders who worked long time with them .election trend is clear to congrs. and JDs so everyone joining them.
