Mangalore: Sandeep Poojary murder - five accused arrested

Mangalore, Feb 23: The Panambur police on Friday February 22 arrested five accused in connection with the murder of Sandeep Poojary, whose body was found on February 19.

The arrested are identified as Manoj (32), resident of Guddekopla, Naveen, resident of Meenakali, Raghavendra alias Raju (23), a resident of Baikampady, Chethan alias Annu, and Laxmeesha alias Anni (25).

Other three accused - Suresh, Sachin, Gopi are absconding and a hunt is on to trace them.

Sources said that on interrogation, the accused said that they had murdered Sandeep to settle an old score. Sandeep who had cases of assault and attempt to murder against him had formed his own gang with the accused.

It may be recalled that on February 15 Sandeep Poojary (29), resident of Guddekopla in Suratkal had gone missing and later he was found dead near river side in Baikampady. His body was found in sack, with hands and legs tied.

Suratkal police are investigating the case.
