UAE-funded bridge in Pakistan almost ready


Islamabad, Feb 24 (IANS/WAM): The UAE "Project to Assist Pakistan" has said the construction of the Sheikh Zayed Bridge over the Swat river in Pakistan is almost complete.

The Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation has given four million dirhams (over $1 million) for the project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The 448-metre-long and over 10-metre-wide bridge will link 15 towns and 45 villages scattered on both banks of the Swat river.
