Breakthrough in blast probe - one taken into custody

Hyderabad, Feb 24, 2013 (DHNS) : Investigating agencies on Sunday took one Mohammad Riyazuddin into custody in connection with the Dilsukhnagar blast case even as the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) claimed responsibility and threatened more such attacks on Hyderabad in the near future.

BJP Andhra Pradesh unit President G Kishan Reddy received a letter purportedly written by the LeT threatening to attack Begum Bazaar, a major business centre. The LeT also claimed responsibility for Thursday’s attack.

Kishan Reddy said the letter written in English and Urdu was handed over to the Abids Police Station. The police said they were examining the letter to ascertain its veracity and tracing its origin.

Begum Bazar was one of the areas where the alleged Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives conducted reconnaissance. This was revealed by one of the IM operatives arrested by the Delhi Police in 2012.

The investigating agencies on Sunday had a few breakthroughs in the Dilsukhnagar bomb blast case and have taken into custody Mohammad Riyazuddin from an apartment in the old city area. In addition to the six teams set up by the Cyberabad police commissionerate, 15 teams of the Hyderabad police commissionerate are probing the twin blasts that killed 16 and injured over a hundred.

A special investigation team of the Cyberabad Police picked up Riyazuddin for questioning. He was arrested by the police after the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast but was later acquitted by a court. Riyazuddin was identified as one of the persons who had visited the blast spot a few minutes before the explosion, as per the CCTV footage.

The agencies also identified IM chief Fayaz Kaji as the prime suspect under whose directions the Bhatkal brothers   Yasin, Riyaz and  Iqbal were operating in India. They were also involved in the Malegaon, Pune and Delhi blasts.

Police Commissioner of Hyderabad Anurag Sharma told reporters on Sunday that the probe has been intensified. He, however, clarified that no arrests were made. He said they were working on various leads but refused to share any information with regard to the investigations.

The government has also sought clarification from the DGP as to how the specific alert sent on February 21 was not circulated to the commissionerate. “We did not get any specific alert on February 21,” Anurag Sharma said.

Injured critical

Six of the injured in terror attacks getting treated in different hospitals in the city are said to be in a critical condition.

According to officials, 90 people were still undergoing treatment at six different hospitals. At Care Hospital in Nampally, three out of the 23 injured are in a critical condition.

I can see viewers blaming each other over political parties lapses. Need of the hour is to discuss why intelligent agencies failed over and over again. It's become trend for them arresting youths immediately the incidents on suspect, distort and damage their images and leave after some period with clean chit. The law has to be made on agencies itself punish those officers whenever they find involved arresting innocent people.

    Mr. Jayarama,
I neither support congress nor their vote bank politics. i am well aware about how they took all minorities for granted. If there is no charge sheet filed yet, why the organistaions whom they belong are not protesting and fighting legally against it? I am pretty sure that if a a home minister makes a remark or statement, he must be well equipped with the proofs to furnish which can stand his statements. and still i can't forget the ugly decision by BJP government to release one of the most dreaded terrorist when they were in power which really made India to look so weak in front of whole world.
I repeat, there is no color for terrorism. Its just the mentality which gives color to it. Jai Hind.

See we never support violence or terrorism no need to prove, but first let your govt file a charge sheet and prove it in a court of law we are all governed with that accused Hindu's are the real culprts, not just keep them in jail and score a political mileage against the opposition. Let the real culprits gets the punishment. If acquittal in Mecca Masjid blast involved in present blast as Mr. Shetty mentioned below, then my theory proves right and your Congis are playing a color terrorism politics.

None seems to come out of their prejudicial, religeous support.

But happy to see every one is concern about terrorism. Victims of recent terrorist attack is from all religions.

Time for us to allow security agencies to do their job.

Let all of us in Mangaloe be cautious and report any suspicious left items etc. to police authories. Let us keep our city safe...this is what the best that we can do.

    Mr. jayarama,
Why there is always double standard in condemning terrorism?? Just because it was done by the organistaion which you support?? This is what making the security of our country weak and toothless. When NIA nabs someone from the organistaion you follow, you guys start to scream congress is behind it. Be matured while making a comment because terrorism is something which kills innocents for no reason and no religion supports it at any cost. Tomorrow i may be a victim for it or any of my closed one. I don't want it and i want the government which we elected should try to root it out from my country. Jai Hind.

ATS, CBI, not even able to file a charge sheet against Sadvi or any of the accused after eight years 'coz they are acting on the basis forcefully signed affidavits and not on the basis of evidences. Even UN Resolution and US intelligent report accused LET is responsible for the Samjautha & Malegoan attacks, they even named the culprits. The theory Hindu/Saffron Terror was the brain child of corrupt Chiddu and a scare crow to retain minority votes

From his name he looks innocent. Why BJP leader only should receive letter? They don't have address of any leader from some other party? Clear case of Orange (not a color, it is a type of fruit. Terrorism has no color)terrorism.

Now there will be a major controversy or breakthrough in both Mecca and Dilsukhnagar Bomb Blasts. If proved that Riyazuddin indeed involved in latest Bomb Blast, his acquittal in Mecca Masjid blast will be major blow to Andhra Pradesh High Court since he was later acquitted by a Court in AP. So, which version is true, Hindu Extremist arrested for Mecca Bomb Blasts or Riyazuddin enjoying his freedom even after he was proved that Bomber earlier? Or AP Police & NIA going on wrong direction?
