Bantwal, Feb 25: In what may be termed as a grim reminder of the sensational Sowjanya rape and murder case that took place in Beltangady in October last year, a girl aged 22 years in Kalladka here is reported to have met a similar fate.

The girl was found allegedly raped and murdered in Baltila village, Kalladka here on Monday February 25.

It is said that the girl got a job in Manipal 15 days ago and hence she was residing in her aunt's place at Udupi. The girl having completed D Ed course, had come to her hometown to collect documents to apply for a government teacher's post.

The girl got down at Dasakodi bus stand and was walking towards her house which is a kilometer away. She was last seen by the locals at around 1.30 pm.

At around evening, her neighbour Vidya while walking along the road near Kuntalgudde spotted the girl's mobile phone fallen on the road. Puzzled, she picked it up and took it home for safekeeping.

Meanwhile, the girl's aunt called on her mobile phone, and when Vidya answered, she asked if she had reached home safely.

Vidya immediately informed the girl's parents about the call, and a search began as the girl had not reached home. It is said that her parents were unaware of her visit from Udupi.

During the search, the girl's footwear, churidar shawl and bag were found on the way to Kuntalgutte, which raised further suspicion. Her body was then found in a small pond at some distance away, and taken out with the help of the locals. Injury marks were found on her neck which indicated that she might have been killed.

Various marks were found at the spot which clearly indicated that the girl was forcibly taken near the pond.

The body was taken to Bantwal government hospital for medical examination. Marks were found on the girl's neck and lips and her clothes were torn. Bantwal police have registered a case and investigation is on.

Locals said that a man identified as Satish had been seen returning from that spot same evening.  A woman (a relative of Satish) heard the girl's screams and rushed to see what was wrong. She saw Satish emerging from the spot and questioned him. Satish who was perspiring heavily replied that he did not know anything and went to his house.

An aged woman also saw a man forcing a girl on the roadside, but as she was scared, she did not disclose the matter, said police sources.

Based on circumstantial evidence, police took Satish into custody. Sources said that he was involved in two rape attempts earlier too. He had also reportedly abused the deceased girl previously and had even asked for her phone number.

The deceased girl belongs to a poor family and with great difficulty she had completed her studies. She is survived by her parents, four sisters and a brother.

A case has been registered in Bantwal rural police station.

It all started in DK with pub attack and Home Stay attack the victims were always women. In those accidents goondas and fringe elements got encouragement thus the individuals started to take decisions watching the scenes played of such attacks again again in the media. The buck stops at the policing. For the police showed the weakness in their enforcement. They were blamed also for favoritism. It will take a long time to undo the harm done during BJP rule mean while simple and poor people will bear the brunt.

Law enforcement in India (Police) work strange, unlike other western countries. Instead of getting information from witness, Police treat them as Criminals, besides they treat them rudely, they are often called at Police station and courts. This kind of treatment keeps witnesses away. People will not volunteer. These procedures must change. They need to follow methods used by United States Police. By doing so, millions of cases could be solved, people will come forward fearlessly and offer their assistance. Question is will the Police change their attitude towards witnesses.

Our Indian Government is so stupid it cannot act on any laws against Rape cases till date. Murder, rape, armed robbery, apostasy all are punished by death according to Sharia laws in some countries so the people think 100 times before commiting such crimes. Implement such death penalty at least for rape case in India as really it hurts when listening to such incidents as these girls are innocent.

When I read this news first I was curious about the Name of the culprit. Thank God it is Satish.Otherwise we would have seen the reaction from the right wing.
Secondly our People's behaviour. Her Friend found her Mobile, but was cool till Victims Aunt Called. A old Lady reportedly seen the Man forcibly dragging the Girl. But she kept quite due to Fear. One more Lady heard the cries of a female but she effectively not countered her relative Satish (Culprit)then and there. Villagers say that he had tried to Rape two more Girls earlier but he was roaming scot free. The Culprit tried to talk the victim earlier, but the incident was not reported.
All above shows Human Behavior towards other Human. Hence the conclusion who allowed him to grow Evil in to Devil????????????

we say our culture was the best n now its spoilt by the western influence.. by the media etc... as far as i remember yesteryears actresses also wore dresses especially the top part in a very akward way.. so to speak.. (since the blame on dresss is a big thing for moral police). women were treated always as lower than men in India from Time immemorial dont know wht culture thtat is.
Its not that abroad rapes dont happen but the guilt are punished and there is a data registry which names them sex offenders n this is circulated to all n sundry whoever requires it so they known the offender , he cannot go anywhere near schools ., colleges stc.
In India whether Bjp or cong ruled states no one is even bothered about the girl child, yes the parents who have boy child are very happy since loads of dowry is one day ttheirs.this is our culture,.
the girl child is killed and only boy is preffered instead of fighting this menace our goons are attacking the couples.
Sex is a natural thing no one needs lessons it does not require westernization , hope the goons learn this fact soon.
RIP GIRL HOPE GOD N THE LAW PUNISHES THE CULPRIT TO MAX PUNISHMENT
By the way i dont see kalladka bhatt in the pics..??

In Indian society there is a section of families who bring up their children with neither fear of God nor the fear of law. Therefore this kind of crime is happening. Adding to this reality youth are exposed to graphic sexual knowledge through pornography, blue movies, TV programs and TV commercials. Young man expect the girl he contacts to act like a porn star. Moral policing is a cause to worry also because when openly sensible courtship is punished by these political goons then this will happen in a perverted version. Thus moral policing will increase such terrible crimes. Another reason is because we are a very young nation and there is disturbance in girl – boy ratio due to female infanticide.

Instead of hanging him, it is better to cut his hands. So let him repent life long for the sin what he has done. Or else parents of the girl should torture him in public. This type of devils should not hang. Because in our country, court punishment takes so many years. What is use?

Things are getting worse day by day in what is called as Parashurama Shriti land where somany temples, churches,Masjids,Bhootaalayas exists. In spite all these spiritual places presents, all these kind of looting, robberies, kidnapping, robberies, murder, molestings, brutality, sexual abuses etc are happening on daily basis without any break.Innocent girls are being targetted for their no fault. Now a days don't feel like reading news paper, very much disgusted. Why it is happening, god only knows.Clue less.Barbaric act.I don't understand why all lawmaking machineries, governements etc are keeping silent in spite of watching all these incidents on daily basis.Enough is enough.Catch all those brutes/monsters and stone to death.Don't wait for the verdict and refer to judicial custody. Please please do something. My heart is paining to hear all these news.Sad and very unfortunate.Did she know that this trip to her native place was the last one?.OMG.Pray God to rest her sould in eternal peace.God please save us from all this atrocities.

Very sad news. May her soul rest in peace. Now we have harsher (death sentence) punishment for rapist. but, unfortunately it seems like not many people are aware of it. "RAPIST WILL BE HANGED TO DEATH" this message should be flashed in all tv channels & news papers along with the warning which is already there for Smoking/Tobacco/Alcohol etc.,

When most heinous crinal acts like this are not being persued properly and cases does not reach to its logical end, criminal minded people like Sathish get encouraged/strengthened to perpetuate similar crimes again and again. This is what aptly happens now in erstwhile DK dist which is once considered as most peaceful and safe land for all since ages.Things have changed now and the " Parashurama Shristi"land of popular Hindu serenes,Churches,Masjids,Bhootalayas is getting fast polluted by heinous acts like rape and murder frequently. In DK in villages the house holds are spread at miles distance amidst forests/lonely places and now days it has become so much frighetning to send the younger/adolcent girls to schools/colleges.This is the effect of development and fast falling values of life dominated by jobless and criminal minded outsiders also.It is time to introspect these acts in its totality and chalk out plans to curb such menace in the larger interest of our own people.Police dept has a greater role to play in on humanitarian grounds.Let a time may not come when people take law into their hands to mete out retaliatory action against the suspects/culprits which will be further dangerous to social fabric.News is condembale and disgusting and most disturbing to read.May the soul RIP.

My daughter of American birth used to read Indian paper, but she told me that she is depressed by reading the heap of news every day of rapes and killing, even the children. She told me that she does't want to visit India any more, afraid to land in the land of rape and killing. As a senior citizen, I am also getting very hearbroken to read such news on a daily basis, hardly any news of good will or charity! These human animals must punished like they do
in Saudi Arabia. This is terribly hearbreaking to read. May God give peace to her bereaved family, let her soul rest in peace.
