The theft was reported at 'Ram Kiran', the residence of Dr Ravindranath Shetty.

On Sunday at around 3.30 pm, Dr Ravindra and his wife left for Mangalore to attend a function. The theft came to light when they returned home on Monday February 25 at around 8.30 am.

The thieves broke the door lock and entered the house, it is said.

Shocked to hear the news about the incident at Dr. Shetty's house. It's a sad incident that the thieves broke in.. to loot jewellery worth so much. I hope the culprits are nabbed soon and they get back their lost belongings. He is a Doctor, A profession which is blessed and noble. These are hard times for Dr. Shetty's family, we all must support them in their time of need.

This good doctor shouldn't have kept such huge amount of jewellery and cash in the house. Utmost care and precaution is necessary as far as gold or daimonds are concerned.

After reading so many testimony about Dr.Shetty, I am sure some people will think twice before they comment on articles without having knowledge about it.

It reminds of reading in a office in Mumbai "Even a fish wouldn't have been in trouble, had it not opened its mouth"

Dear Rama Chandra Kini Managalore, I don't know what message you are going to convey to public but I can say the jewelry looted from Doc's house is relatively nothing. For about nine lakh rupees you can hardly get 20-22 sovereigns which is even an average family have more than that and I am sure my communities has more than that is certain.

Here,Doc was taken for a task is very very unfortunate. Some of us made 'Lapsus linguae'which I consider very unfortunate. With out knowing the person taking for a task not augur well in public domain. As some of us who was known to them made it clear. Therefore we must take care while cribbing about the person.

It is sad incident. Dr. Shetty is a simple person and a dispensery in rural area since 1980's. People need not speak anything ill about him without knowing the background of this noble man. Whatever he has he has earned and not looted...!!

Mr. Jossey...It is an unfortuenate comment. Dr.Shetty is one of such Doctors who prefered to practice his profession in a village. He could have earned lot more money from a posh locality or town. Without knowing him Please dont comment in a public platform.

I was very heart broken not because our dear Doctor Shetty's house got looted but becasue of the comments put by the people. One Mr. Jossy Saldana sitting in Mapusa is commenting knowing nothing about this gentlemen Dr. Shetty and his down to earth wife Mrs. Usha. Rodolf Mumbai comparing noble doctor's profession as a business. Mr. Rodolf first get the informatin about this doctor and his family and give your comments. Guys please wake up and don't compare one person to another or one doctor to another. As I said Doctor's profession is a noble profession and we should always respect the profession because we came to this world and seen the light because of them. Further Dr. Shetty, Usha Aunty, Dr. Rakshay,Akshay and Ajay I am very sorry for your loss. God will surely help to nab the thieves soon.

Please do not talk about Dr. Shetty without knowing him. He is gem of a person. This would be his hard earned money. There will be a reason why he kept all this money at home and he will be knowing who might have done this shameful act. We ppl in Shankerpura know him very well, he is such a humble and personality.

Take him also to task along with the robbers on whether he was paying IT and how he got so much of free money!! Doctors have become worst than dacoits in looting innocent patients!!!

Generally , it is an old plumber / carpenter / electrician or his assistant ( could be an old one ), who knows the inside of the house, who has done this. The Cops should know better.

A total pity case and I feel pity too towards this kaput family.

A don't mind gagging my bit of anger on this so called Doctor itself. He lives where ? looks like in Demon Jungle markedly outside city area and he stored all his pricelss Diamond necklace and bangles worth Rs 4 lac, a gold chain weighing 8 sovereigns, a gold chain and pendent weighing 5 sovereigns, three bangles weighing 6 sovereigns, another gold necklace of 4 sovereigns, silver plates and tumblers were stolen, together with Rs 81,000 in cash. There is a height for idiotism I say.

A fastest investigation needed by CID bureau so as to arrange a chairless seat to buglers behind the bar soon with Koli biryani meal.
