Bangalore : Yeddy turns 71 - Dreams big for KJP

Daijiworld Media Network - KPN

Bangalore, Feb 28 (DHNS): On the day he turned 71, KJP President B S Yeddyurappa spoke about seeing his party ruling the State by the time he celebrates his next birthday.

“It is not that I am after the post of chief minister. I want Karnataka to become a model state,” Yeddyurappa said at a programme organised by the Youth Wing of the KJP to celebrate his birthday.

The function held at a choultry in Malleswaram, was attended by a host of his followers including Dhananjay Kumar, Lakshminarayana, Shobha Karandlaje and film actress Shruthi. The actress also fed her leader a piece of cake.

Yeddyurappa said he had presented his first budget as deputy chief minister and finance minister in 2006, with a total outlay of Rs 35,000 crore. “With the blessings of the people, I want to present a Rs two lakh-crore budget for the State within the next five years,” Yeddyurappa said.

Last year, he had converted his birthday function into a show of strength to rattle the BJP central leadership and coerce it to accept his demand that he be reinstated as chief minister.

That was not to be and Yeddyurappa has since quit the BJP and formed his own regional party.

Yeddyurappa, on Wednesday, said justice can be done to the State only by a regional party.

“By winning 15 Lok Sabha seats, we can be instrumental in forming the next government at the Centre and then we can get our due share ,” he said.

He also blamed the government for mismanaging the finances of the State and not doing enough to tackle the drought.

He wants to come to power to make Karnataka a model state? What a shameless pretender! This same image had brought disgust to most of the Christians and Muslims during his tenure! Main culprit in the attack of worship places in Karnataka. He will never succeed anymore. That is for sure.. He has fallen short of that blessing anymore in the eyes of True God. He need to confess that first if he is a GENTLEMAN !!!

Ripe age to light the kaldeepa than blowing the candle , Showing a big sword and cutting the ‘English’ cake with a small knife.
Right time to make way for young generation than clinging to chair. Progress and Peace can never be brought at the tips of sword.

I thought I saw them sneaking in there for the party. Now they are wearing a party mask - difficult for others to recognise them!!!!!

I find him outlandish in that attire (holding sword\wearing turban and jewellery etc and what not)
Also Akka could not feed the cake - what a shame - may be what he is wiping off may be the gift given..
Many Happy returns of the day (belated)
Please do not come to power again.
We need the remaining money for development by the next new Govt.

Yeddiji, everyone who says this model state quotes only when they are powerless...remember those days you came to chance to rule by striving for the betterment of farmers but when you got power your govt only golibared farmer for asking thr need..you fought against congress's corruption but when you got power you only jailed for the same..! you and ur party speaking about respecting ladies, but unfortunately rapist haalappa, kissing hero renu, blue filmviewers were all made a new history these are all hapened when this same yaddiji was thr in BJP..Hope now a days he got new dream of changing state(but what way god only knows).Even If so I wish him happy birthday and i have a nice suggestion to you to take rest of ur life spend with family and be an adviser(?) and lead life happily by coming out of this bloody politics..!

cutting cake on a birthday...WOW ...is it in our culture? I remember someone preaching ... 'cutting of cake on a birthday is not in our culture'...

If it is not in our culture, do we need a leader who wholeheartedly encourages something that is not in our culture...
