'...Nathlya Vellar' in Bangalore on public demand

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Mar 3 : The Konkani version of 'Naavilladaga' Kannada play by Ramanada Choorya, translated from the original Marathi play by Madhusoodan Kallelkar, will be staged in  Bangalore on April 27, 2013 at St.Joseph’s European School (Museum Road).

The play is based on a true life story of a navy commander and his family, which became a sensational case in Maharashtra back in 1959. The play has created a record with over 5000 shows in Marathi, Kannada, Konkani and Tulu.

The late Ramananda Choorya's family has given permission to alter the play according to the current demand. Talented director and writer Dayan D'Souza is directing the play with his own dialogues.

The play was successfully staged in Dubai in April 2012 and in Udupi in January this year. All the actors who staged the first play in Dubai will be taking part in the Bangalore show.

Dubai’s successful entrepreneur Raju Francis Fernandes, MD of SPPE is the main sponsor for the Konkani drama in Bangalore. He was impressed with the first performance of the drama in Dubai and is now keen to support the drama in Bangalore as well.

The Bangalore event will be managed by veteran event director Denzil Fernandes.  Denzil was the first organizer to take the late Wilfy Rebimbus and his group for the first time to the Gulf, apart from several other Konkani, Tulu, Kannada, Hindi artistes from Mangalore, Mumbai and Bangalore to UAE.

There will be only one show in Bangalore and tickets will be limited. Tickets for the drama will be released shortly all over in Bangalore. Due to limited seating at the auditorium early booking is advised.

Tickets will be priced at Rs 200 (silver class) and Rs 300 (gold class) only for the drama.

One of the best played dramas which was presented at Udupi recently. Though the actors are not professionals in the drama field, their presentation was superb.Wish the Konkani people of Bangalore see this drama which has meaningful message. All the best.

First and foremost i must congratulate Denzil Fernandes for the effort he is taking Konkani Drama at Bangalore. It was the year 1983 Denzil had the courage to bring late Wilfyab and his troupe to Bahrain, and conducted two housefull shows. Ami Nathalya Vellar was a Hindi movie in 1960 and Sunil Dutt acted as a Naval Officer.
I hope this drama will make a record success in Bangalore
All the best to all the actors and specially to Dayan D'Souza Mukamar, Director of the drama
