Kundapur, Mar 7: Kundapur women police have busted a suspected human trafficking racket and taken three girls and a woman into custody.

It is alleged that girls from Kundapur were being sent to Bangalore.

Among the three girls taken into custody, two hail from Sarpanakatte in Bhatkal and another from Gundmi.

On interrogation, it was learnt that all the girls have crossed the age of 20. They will be sent to Spoorthidhama in Kedoor, said Manjunath Kavari, Kundapur circle inspector.

Dear juliet, your comments are so absurd-'wow 101 dislikes',look at your own comments:"Do not spare these females.Give them the same punishment given to the rapists." Then you talk about 'a bit of confusion',it's not confusion,it's simple twisting of statements:"My comment was for the culprits who send the innocent girls to Bangalore and not the victims."What a pity, you being a woman you call them "females",why don't you become a lawyer, not lier.!

@Juliet Mascarenhas, Bejai/Mangalore, Madam, do not condemn these people, this can befall on any person!!! I cannot understand in which "shielded world" you are living in? I imagine you would be having a cozy house, bank balance, car, servants, religiosity, but the real life outside is different Madam!!! Stop dreaming/acting!!!!! Real life is on the streets of Mangluru......and our country, just observe, note, and study, and you will know!!!

@Ismail Perinje, bro, are you acting innocent or influenced while commenting? In which world are you? What is the status of this profession even in the place where you live with laws of cutting the hands, neck, hanging, and what not, do you know? Please think of the very downtrodden law abiding peasants who know nothing, but struggle/beg to earn two square meals a day!!! Think from their angle bro!!!

@Roshan Braganza, only those who join this profession from the rich and the elite are those whose aim is for easy money and glamour and fun, and it is their conscious decision. But, those from the poor mostly enter the trade to earn a living, it might be voluntary, enticed, or forced!! Whoever said it is easy money? One just has to see the way they operate, all the types of dirty/diseased/perverted men they serve, and the inhuman conditions in which they live!! Who would even think of wanting such a life unless otherwise there is no other option!! And it is only the poor who fall into the net, not those serving the elite in star hotels, pvt. guest houses, and as escorts!!

'Prostitution' is oldest profession of world and its wrong to say poverty is the reason behind it. Quick money , glamour pulls the crowd . How it can be a human trafficking if no force involved , and why the term 'rescue ' as they themselves voluntarily chosen the field. Why the 'rescue' happens only with women but not men?! Girl or boy , minor or major stays with a person with consent , its not human trafficking . Eg: minor girls for household work.

It is only mentioned here that 3 girls and a woman were taken into custody but not a word of anyone else who were arranging these women to be trafficked to places and if police have arrested them.
I wonder if the identity of the traffickers will be released at all anytime!!!

This time you received more 'dislikes' than 'like's.

Kindly look in to both-side before giving your opinion.

They are the victims of the situation.
We do not know what made them reach that extream level.

Finally police managed to catch victims but not who run the racket.

Dear Ms.Juliet I will not agree with you. Rapist cannot be compared to prostitute.Rape is equal to murder because the victim and the family suffer rest of their lives. That is why in middle east murder and rape will be given death penalty. As we have seen in many cases prostitution is exploitation of woman due to poverty and illeteracy.Initially they were put into such a trap that they are unaware of the consequences later.Once entered there is difficult U-turn because society considers them as taboo.Latest study revealed that 99% prostitues desires decent living but they are helpless.Society will not accept them.Another survey revealed that if there are no bothels in Metros rape rates will increase. These sex workers quench the lust of mentally sick.In addition they are pron to deadly infectious deseases. There is a purpose why Jesus forgave woman caught with adultry. He said those who have not sinned throw the first stone to her and there was no one.

I totally agree with Juliet madam.

These girls need easy money. There are enough opportunities. For example, any mean job in a Mall, like city center for girls start from salary Rs. 5000/month plus other benefits. Or even some maids working several houses in a day on hourly basis make approximately Rs. 10,000 monthly. But you know all these one has to work hard. For receiving easy money, one should go for short cuts and unethical ways.

@Vishal, I totally agree with your views bro! Majority of them go into this trade due to very poor financial conditions, when there is no other way to live a decent life!! Few from high end families for fun and enhanced income to lead a luxurious life, but they are seldom caught because of their status. It is only the poor who always fall into the net. As you rightly said, the rich-poor divide is ever increasing, rich are getting richer and poor more poor!! Just see the inflation, the price of medicines, doctors, traveling!! Real estate prices are rising as if there is scope to mine gold!!! It is impossible for the common law abiding peasant to even have the utmost basics of life with the meager salary doled out for doing honest work!! Whereas the prices of commodities have quadrupuled in the last 2 years, salaries of the commoner have not even doubled!! This socioeconomic problem is also the main reason for the big increase in robberies!! A very humane view should be taken and they should be counseled and rehabilitated instead of getting punished!

The agent/king pin should be arrested and put behind bars for a long period. But is our judiciary is strong enough for this? No. There is no deterrent for this activity.

The world is changing very fast, rather people's mentality is changing very fast, thanks to media.

If you look at the core reason for this kind of activity is price rise. Poor people, what they will do? The salary income is not enough to take care of the standard of living. Poor becomes poorer and rich becomes richer. Fortunately, many people are able to go out of the country and earn their livelihood. Those who stuck in the native struggle to hold on to their moral values and their standard of living. Believe me, I know many girls who hail from orthodox families and are now secretly involved in flesh trade.

The main reason is the government is only bothered about the GDP. That is all.
