Western outlook about women reason for rape: Joshi

Chennai, Mar 9 (PTI): The "western outlook" about women was a reason for rape and the concept that women were inferior to men was repugnant' to Indian philosophy, BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi today said.

"The difference between western concept and Indian concept is that one considers them (women) the weaker sex and we consider them the mother sex," he said.

Releasing a book titled "Dented and Painted-Beyond Flesh" here, he said, "Because you consider them weaker sex you rape and because we consider them mother sex we worship."

Quoting anecdotes, he said Indian concept about women never painted them as inferior and the very concept that woman is inferior to man was repugnant to various schools of Indian philosophy.

Woman was not a body but persona, mind, intellect and above all 'universal mother," he added.

    This itself explains the mindset of this man and also as a politician. Is Western culture only in terms of clothes. A 3 or 4 or 5 or even 6 years old girls are raped by grown up men is it because of western culture. This man even though 75 has not matured and lives with a confict and sick mind. Western culture does not confine only to clothes it also confines to many things such as, we use western clothes, we use western cars, we use western electronics, we use what not of western market and not to forget after the FDI introduction we will have more western ideas in our country. Olden days when I used to see Hindi movies there were lot of rape scenes but now the rape scenes in Hindi movie have come down to Zero but rapes in and around the streets have increased. Our whole mind set has become wretched. That male domination will never go. We the men are superior and the women are our Dasi. If educated people talk like this then what good can you expect from the society. I hold the people of India who vote for these shameless leaders who have no ethics in life and just rattle their tongue as if they have the right to talk and we as voters have the right to only say "yes" and "Listen".

    This fault-finding mentality and putting the blame on the west for
    every abnormal behaviour of two
    legged human animals is getting too
    untolerable. If a person caught in the U.S. even touching a woman
    in the wrong way will put that person into jail for years. If that legal route is followed in India, then India has to start a massive jail building project by the thousands. First of all, in India, down through the centuries the women were treated like 2nd class people. I have watched this disorder even among the educated
    people migrated to the U.S. In social gathering, the men will be served food at first, then the women. Very rarely I have found, both the men and women are being served in a mixed line. Please don't put all the blame on the west for the mistreatment of women.
    Take the good from the east and west and follow a better life!

    Now a days we can hear that in India
    all the rape are under the influence of western countries... what a non sense it is>>>we do not hear any rape news from the so called countries as inhuman activeness.
    The main provocation is style of dressing and projection of flesh and sometimes we afraid of stray dogs and that can also attack for
    this flesh...
    See this is the mistake of parents
    and it is a big mistake commit ed by them and must advice the children that wear decent dress in the society or while going out..instead of that no use of saying that it is the imitation from western people..When problem occurred in the pub two years back I saw one girl who was bending her body to take her mobile phone from the floor,thru TV channel,live show
    there was no dress we can see her back side I mean from waste to bottom and are western countries
    responsible that.no never ,her parents only are responsible..

    If you have internet connection then we can see what is going on in our country.so no need of blaming others in this regard.ok...

    Mr.Ibrahim saudi,your statement is quite wrong.However a woman dresses doesnt mean that she is free for anybody to rape.doesnt a man have so much control over him? and in a group.are these days men have become animals?Even a girl dressed in typical Indian dress was a offer to rape? are you also a such type?the moment you see a woman in western dress some dirty thoughts exist in you? dont you know to respect a woman? where is also our indian tradition gone? do you mean that in this 21 century should dress like in ancient time? and these days where women are earning for the family mostly who will give them job if she dresses with completely covered from head to foot.?even I know men admire women who dresses decent.of course some do go beyond the limit. that doesnt mean that she should be raped. where are we I ask.Even in Western countries women are not raped when they dress unnaturel.or go hardly dressed.think what you are writing about.our men should learn to respect our women ,girls then rapes will reduce .

    Are baba , the girls Soujanya and Soumya who were raped in our State/dist.did not give any Western outlook.They were well dressed like Bharathiya Nari.
    We consider them as mother sex , then why this father sex raped them instead of worshiping.
    In all the rape cases cited so far neither the rapists were the followers of western culture nor the victims. The weak minded persons are the ones who have committed such acts.This is all the result of the poor seed that is sown .Good seed will reap good fruits.

    3 year old girl child raped in Kerala State, who were living on pavement! Did the rapist notice her western cloths in the night?
    The perverted people rape irrespective of any provocation by dress or attire. Evil is on the mind of perpetrator than the victim.
    These Old people who have lost their senses, who want to control the female as possession always find fault with the victims rather than the culprits.
    Did Draupadi wore western cloths to seduce Kichaka?
    We need Bimas to teach a lesson to these modern day Kichakas.

Is it under control of Indian sentiments? off course it's a high source of income to our economy!Could you tell me now a days a decent family can watch Indian movies with children? inbetween our so called acters involved in smuggling activities of jewellery/currencies/Arms to one country to the other. What our judicial system is doing? Who are the rapist in India? see today's news Bitty Mohaty's son who was hiding after parol caught in Kerala...You cannot compare it to west.In west judicial system/freedom goes hand in hand.     Even if a womwn walks naked on the street no man has the right to rape her just because she is naked.
    Change your attitude about dress code.
    women can wear anything they want to wear.
    As mentioned women are weaker sex, men try to impose their opinions and want to keep a strong hold in the society.
