People disillusioned with Congress as well as BJP: Advani

New Delhi, Mar 9 (PTI): BJP leader L.K. Advani has said the mood of the people is against the Congress and they are simultaneously disillusioned with his party.

He faulted the party's handling of Karnataka affairs in the wake of corruption allegations against the then Chief Minister Y.S. Yeddyurappa in 2010, in a veiled criticism of Nitin Gadkari who was the party president at that time.

"In the last few years, I have been feeling distressed to find that while the current mood of the people is against the present ruling party, they are simultaneously somewhat disillusioned with even the BJP," Advani told The Week in an interview.

Underlining that BJP is ‘expected to have zero tolerance towards corruption’, the former Deputy Prime Minister said, "The manner in which we actually wrangled in Karnataka disappointed me."

He did not elaborate but was clearly referring to the dilly-dallying by the party high command on removing Yeddyurappa after the corruption allegations against him cropped up.

Yeddyurappa, whose government was the first by BJP in any southern state, was finally forced to quit as Chief Minister months after the allegations against him surfaced.

Referring to the BJP Conclave held here last week, Advani said he had ‘become very emotional’ and was ‘sad’ at the public disillusionment with his party.

At the same time, the BJP veteran said he was ‘optimistic’ about the party's future.

BJP or Janata Dal has done no good for India. They have travelled to Pakistan to say that Jinna was a good man and he was great to create Pakistan. They speak one thing here and boast and another thing in that country. So BJP was not a stable govt. in India. Just to divert the minds of people, it has played so many games.

This Iron completely melted on two occasions which made us bow in shame internationally :
1 The Kandhar episode taking terriorist by helicopter accompanied by foreign minister.
    2. The attack on Parliment where our iron man was completely ignorant when terriorist entered till Parliment House.

From Karnataka Mr Advaniji your great leaders Sushma Akka Nithin Bai Rajnathji Jaitley sab took huge booty and looted our state for funding elections in 2014.So dont be sad.

L K Advani has indeed spoken the plain truth . Yes both the Congress and the BJP cannot be trusted. They are both on their last legs. The Youth will soon vote both these parties out forever, but there is still is time for that and we will have to tolerate both these criminal infested parties for a little more time. The fair only option is to go with known devil the 'Congress' on one condition that it will not allow any Criminal to contest elections. Let Rahul and Sonia along with PM Manmohan take a pledge on this and strictly implement the recent Justice Varma committee suggestions in toto. If this is not done now , we will soon surely witness a Shahbad or Tharir Square in India.

Today the among few icons of BJP's ideology Lal Krishna Advaniji ranks No.1.At times of Karnataka BJP was in havoc due to corruption matters he vehimently opposed the way of handling the things by top functioneries at Delhi. This has created sever devide among Gadkari and Advaniji.Gadkari's name errupted as being indulged in corruptive pracitcies further deepened the crisis.
The South India's first and only state government in fact could be looked upon a case study for BJP worshops to guide the future cadres in right way.The issue should be in the permanent record of BJP's central library for future guidance.Mohan Bhagavat's name also should figure here prominently.I hail the way of Advaniji's speaking the truth fearlessly/courgeously.
    Jai ho Advaniji....

L.K.Advani virtually discouraged party workers in Karnataka and I think BJP accepted the defeat before war could start!!!Still LK advani optimistic about BJP in Karnataka but voters pessimistic. After removing BSY from CM post as well as relinquishing from party membership,BJP's situation still gone bad to worse.
