Karkala : Aisa bhi kabhi hota hai - Candidate Gets ZERO Vote!

Daijiworld Media Network - Karkala

Karkala, Mar 12: The urban local body election results in the state have brought many surprises to the candidates as well as political parties. But to the utter shock of Hemachandran, a JD(S) candidate from ward no 11, he did not get a single vote!

When the counting results of Karkala town municipal council were declared, it was revealed that he had secured zero vote - even he had not voted for himself!

Let alone his JD(S) followers, his own family members did not vote for him. He should have at least got three votes as he lives with a family of three.

Similarly, candidate for ward no 19 from Karkala Alwyn Britto of JD(S), secured only one vote, which clearly indicated that only he had voted for himself. He has many relatives and friends in the ward, but unfortunately no one voted for Alwyn.

By the way, both the above candiates were extremly confident of winnning the election by huge margin. One of them had even reportedly arranged band and fire crackers for the celebration!

Among all the discrepancies that happen withing Government & electoral systems, this is no big deal. Consider the great voter's list - dead people come alive or people still alive go dead, man becomes woman & woman becomes man! This is just another part of it. We just have to deal with it.

Still there is a possibility that votes to these two candidates were deliberately not counted or just whisked away to the thrash. If this be the case all voters who have voted them should come forward and accordingly. Interestingly, how both candidates happen to be from the same party?

'coz voters told upfront whom to vote the movement of the votes in civic body elections mainly depend on the back door negotiation between parties and leaders, exchange of cash and kind between them, cast combination also a big factor and not the credential of the candidate.

I like the first fellow he is honest, and can see others' goodness and beauty. So, he voted for others. I love his family - they also voted according to their conscience.
The Britto fellow, voted for himself - he is typical like JDS and its boss. Bad!

Hemachandra should be d a national hero immediately. All our politicians must learn from him and his truthful family.

In my knowledge, I think every voter has his\her independant right to vote for anyone, voter considers is a fit candidate!!
    Don!t you think so too?
You do not by any chance insist\force anyone in your family\circle to vote forcibly, to a certain candidate, do you?

I have some problem in my DVD player. When I play 1st DVD it plays 2nd DVD, and if I Press 3rd DVD it plays 1st. There could be similar problem in EVM machine too. If you press against JD (S), it will vote for either Congress or BJP and vice versa. Some technical problem.

This is mere impossible. Hemachandran being a JD(S) candidate & his family members did not vote for JDS means they are betraying their Party or may be their votes gone to astray due to voting fault. Otherwise how could it happen like this? If Hemachandran proves that he voted for his Party along with his family members and there were no invalid votes to count then off course we have to believe that EVM could have been tampered and State Election Commission should take some drastic step to stop this menace. So it will also give wrong impression with Congress claim of mandates too. Same like another Candidate in Karkala Alwyn Britto of JDS too might have to doubt about the EVM. I am sure being a Christian Devoted Person no way his family will betray him. Then where were the votes of his family members went?

EVM can be tampered. Advanced nations like England, Germany or Japan even now uses ballot boxes for elections since they claim it can be easily tampered. If you google, there are enough number of proofs that EVM's are not tamperproof. Re elections should be arranged wherever the elections are rigged. No wonder congress won so many seats
