New Delhi, Mar 12 (IANS): Ram Singh, the alleged mastermind of the Delhi gang-rape, died due to hanging in Tihar Jail, a doctor who took part in the autopsy said Tuesday.
There were no external injury marks on his body, the doctor told the media. He said his name should not be revealed as he was not authorised to speak to journalists.
A panel of three doctors conducted Ram Singh's post-mortem at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) before the body was given to his family.
According to AIIMS, the final autopsy report will be given to police "within a couple of days".
Ram Singh reportedly committed suicide in Tihar Jail Monday morning. He was facing for the rape and death of a 23-year-old woman in a bus which he was driving.
He was arrested Dec 17, a day after the brutal gang-rape ignited protests all across India. A magesterial inquiry has been ordered into Ram Singh's death.
