Bangalore: Yeddyurappa says his next target is to storm assembly polls

Bangalore, Mar 12 (PTI):
After playing spoilsport to the ruling BJP in the recently concluded polls to Urban Local Bodies in Karnataka, KJP President B S Yeddyurappa today set his eyes on storming the Assembly in upcoming elections.

"My first target was to finish the BJP in ULB elections because they had ditched me. People have taught them a lesson. My next target is to storm assembly in the upcoming polls," he told reporters here.

Yeddyurappa said the central BJP leaders should realise the importance of his contribution to the growth of their party in the state.

"Without me, the BJP has cut a sorry figure as it lost in almost all districts, particularly strongholds like Udupi and Puutur in ULB elections," the former Karnataka Chief Minister said.

Yeddyurappa said the Karnataka Janata Paksha has performed satisfactorily in the ULB polls, though losing some of his stronghold districts like Shimoga.

"We are a nascent party and were concentrating on assembly elections, but never expected early ULB polls. So we had inadequate time to prepare. But winning about 300 wards in three months is not a mean achievement," he added.

Yeddyurappa said KJP would not ally with any other party before or after assembly polls. "We are going to contest 224 constituencies. I am confident we will get absolute majority," he said.

Yeddyurappa denied indirectly supporting Congress in ULB polls and said he was worried about KJP. "The Congress, however, have benefited from the ULB elections, whereas JDS lost more than 600 wards compared to the previous ULB polls held in 2007," he said.

Nothing much to say but YEDDI has the Spirit Like MODI............at least Karnataka has a leader who can stand next to MODI. Central BJP should think for YEDDI.

Actually KJP did quite well to get close to 300 wards. For a party that is just a few months old and with no real canvassing, that is a good performance.

Yeddiyrappa is an able leader who built BJP in Karnataka. Ananth Kumar has played his cunning games to topple Yeddy. But I think Yeddy will be able to prove his strength on his own.

Yeddy is a Highly ambitious Politician, who wants to have a cake & eat it too.
He had toiled for 40 years & he never thought he would become CM one day.
But when Kumaraswamy betrayed him, he succeeded in getting sympathy of Karnataka voters.
He couldn't say no to his own family members & ministers when asked to favor them in denotifications or mining which helped his party to become strong. He could've ruled for another 15 years with opposition in tatters while BJP was winning every election.
But when the High Command failed to guide him & finally he was deposed with false promises, he was just like an injured Lion.
He only accepts BJP Rule with him as CM or he just wants to demolish the very party he built from scratch.
He doesn't mind to sit in opposition as long as BJP sits with him as well.
Here BJP is Loser- it lost Golden Opportunity to give good governance after coming to power in south for the first time.
He has nothing to lose but everything to gain in the longer run.

Yes, he hurt JDS a lot and it is his first target, it lost 600 seats, BJP lost 300 seats. A newly formed party winning 300 seats within 3 months shows he got enough clout with his supporters. He will definitely favor Congi 'coz they bailed him out and even assisted him to come out of the Jail at that time he even praised Madam-G. Sadananda Gowda and BJP didn't support him, so Gowda lost his CM post. Now it is the revenge game for Yeddy.

Yediyurappa was the king maker for BJP in Karnataka. He is a forceful leader and made his arch rival Kumaraswamy come to his knees politically. When Yediyurappa indulged in corruption many people from state/central are the benificiaries including Sushma,Gadkari etc.,Sushma's husband Lawyer Mr.Swaraj too was benifitted immencely from Karnataka on legal matters as per favours showns by Yediyurappa.A number of RSS people hitherto unknown in corruption started tasting corruptrd booty and all kept quiet when the benifits from Yediyurappa continued. At that point of RSS political boss of BJP did never made any attempt to put the brake on Yediyurappa's actvities and allowed him to opearte unhindered.Only person who was opposing Yediyurappa was oldman from Delhi and he was ignored by the Hi command.Result is this. Now nobody can peciify Yediyurappa who has decided to demolish BJP from Karnataka. It will happen just like Hanuman burnt Srilanka of Ravan. It is too late now to take corrective steps to save BJP in Karnataka.Any comments please.....

What Yeddi does not realise is that the voters don't trust him. BJP has lost because of corruption started by him and his family and rest of BJP party men.Nationally also BJP is a lost cause. Except Advani rest are all corrupt. All they know is to block the daily activities parliament there by obstructing any progress in the country and take India to bullock cart age.

truth is by this BJP vs KJP vs BSR will help congrs to win next election also.

unity in a political party is very important. kumarswamy is the main master who divided BJP in to 3 and it helped to congrs.

finally BSY KJP,BSR con,BJP,JDs all are looser... congrs is winner by just watching their fight by watching and enjoying quietly !!!!
