Mangalore, Mar 12: "The district Youth Congress is thankful to the voters and to the senior leaders of the party who gave an opportunity to youngsters to contest in the urban local body elections. Because of their trust in us, more than 10 members of Youth Congress have today become corporators," said district Youth Congress president Mithun Rai.

He was addressing a press meet here on Tuesday March 12.

"Prior to the elections, Congress leaders entrusted us (Youth Congress) with the responsibility of attracting more number of youngsters to the party. We did our job with keen interest and enthusiasm by organizing various programmes. As a result, we have won not only in MCC but in most parts of the district," he said.

"Even in the city corporation, more number of youngsters from the party were given opportunities, which further boosted our enthusiasm to work and succeed in the elections. All the Youth Congress members will earnestly and selflessly work towards solving the problems of people in their respective wards," he said.

Mithun Rai also lambasted the BJP and said, "The corrupt BJP has led youths in the age group of 20-35 years in the wrong path, because of which they are spending the prime years of their lives behind bars. Whereas, the Youth Congress has been encouraging and supporting the youngsters in preserving communal harmony and forming a developed society free of hatred. Hence, youngsters should join the Youth Congress to participate in the nation building process."

When he said that in the coming days Congress would provide employment opportunities to local youths by bringing MNCs and big companies to Mangalore, a media person countered the claim by pointing out that already there are several companies in Mangalore but none of them are providing enough jobs to the locals.

"This matter has not come to the notice of Youth Congress. We will study the issue carefully and if it is true, will fight for justice," Mithun Rai replied.

On a query whether the Congress would support the proposed ultra mega power plant at Niddodi too, Mithun Rai took some time before carefully answering, "If the company can establish itself without causing any problems to the people, we will support it."

Youth Congress leaders Praveenchandra Alva, Vinay Raj, Rajaneesh, Prithviraj, Prakash, Abdul Lathif, Prakash Salian and Sumaiyya were present.

Guys you know what the parties talk about the NEGATIVES of other party… cos that don’t have any to talk about their ACHIEVEMENTS. .
We should stop behaving like fools and make them accountable.
People are quick to give their opinion based on what they like and dislike… may be whether it is a party or something else.
We are not putting the interest of the country at large. Guys come on …. If BJP has misled the youth .. what has congress government done ??? If BJP makes people go to the bars.. as told by some youth leader, then we should also blame Congress for the rampant drug addictions that is happening in the city of Mangalore. BJP was in the corporation for the last 5 yrs… the drug menace is Mangalore goes way back.. as far as remember around 20 yrs. Tell me what has Congress government done to curb all that.
Stop all this … Stop the blame game. People are much smarter to know and the media is all out to give the public about what is going on. You can fool some people and fool some who are easily going to be flattered by your words. You people had the power for some many years and we have seen what you have given.
I think you should talk about your achievements than talking about negatives of other party.

Youths who are hardcore supporters of BJP "spending the prime years of their lives behind bars", well said Mithun.
Also agree with Mohammad Iqbal, Hokkadigoly/KSA "BJP leader's children are well educated and following right path"
Yes, only poor & less educated & uneducated youths are being used for misdeeds/offences by BJP leaders, which these "Bali ka Bakraas (Harakeya Kuri)" don't understand.
Young age is so precious... if you want to fight, fight for the nation, fight against curruption & anti social elements... not for the political leaders or so called "saviour of religion & culture".

Revenue doen not mean that there are MNC companies in Managlore. These are just local companies who are struggling to get revenue still making noticeable amount of profit.
There hardly three or four MNC are there in Mangalore and they just provide support job. If you are an IT person you will understand

I agree, the reason why a majority of the big and small IT players are reluctant to shift to Mangalore-Udupi is because of the poor social environment and one has to blame BJP backed Bajrangis, HJV, Ram Sena etc who have created an uneasy atmosphere for young Workers to come to this region.Very soon the Education industry in Mangalore-Udupi too will take a hit becasue of such moral policing, communal disturbance, frequent attacks on youngsters and radical organization.

CONGI'S HURRIEDLY NEED NOT TAKE IT GRANTED THAT WHAT EVER THEY DO PEOPLE WILL VOTE.
THIS IS ONLY BJP VS KJP FACTOR.
ESPECIALLY YOUNGSTERS SHOULD WORK IN SUCH A WAY THAT VOTERS THINK TEN TIMES BEFORE VOTING AND KEEPS ON CHANGING THE PARTY TO RULE.

Trust in youngsters brought victory to Congress. Yes.
Like in home as well as Industry, it is necessary to groom youngsters to shoulder greater of nation and society building.
But not to create communal disharmony or moral policing like hardliners do.
Eventually youngsters ruin their lives in Police/Court cases.

The BJP youth were misled by their leaders to create panic and fear. They thought this was Bihar. But not for long. The ballot has been found to be the best weapon and it has proved that. Many thanks to the student community for their really huge support in thrashing these hooligans through the ballot.

ha ha ha.. several MNC's in mlore!!!!! Media man, u gotcha b kiddin.. if there were sevral multi national companies why young graduates would land up in blore or other metropolitan cities. Mangalore got good opportunity in marketing but not in IT, BT, BPO and other BE stream. 3 major companies in mlore are Infosis, mphasis an HP company and cognizant. V cannot expct job opportunities if graduates are thousands in number.

Perhaps you are not aware that the IT/BPO revenue from mangalore is 2000 crores and the employment provided by these industries is around 10000. If mangalore is made a safer place to live in without goons disturbing you and adminstration extorting money, I beleive a lot of small players will relocate to mangalore providing immanese opportunities to locals.

Moral policing fetched income to police too! Trafic police even out sourced their job to goondas. BJP kept the youth illiterate and ignorant as they are needed to throw stones at places of worship of other communities. How else will they come to power? Create communal strife and people get sentimental about it. And still BJP claims they are defenders of culture. And cows too!

You the GenNext are the leaders of tomorrow. Come on show the people of your constitution that you care for them. They want a change in the existing stagnant political system bring a small change in every ward for good of the people in that ward. Bring in a complete revival of the India political system free of corruption and work for uplifting of the rural poor. Use RTI act every now and then and blow the whistle of all the corrupt leaders, including in your party.
    Good luck! Jai Hind!!

Congress is the party in Mangalore this will prevent all the MORAL POLICING and also the misbehaving with women. So all you molesters and rapist and communal riot creators can go to Gujarat and keep saying India is Hindu country.. BJP are the real vote bank politics players. They want to create division between people so that they can control the Hindu community people and then once they take them into thier rule they will start playing vote bank politics with other caste. Kudos Mangalore for showing BJP were they belong.

    Jai Hind Jai Bharat
