Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Mar 12: Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza on Tuesday March 12 congratulated newly-elected corporators of all the wards under Mangalore City Corporation and conveyed his best wishes to them.

The bishop urged the corporators to understand the problems of the people and resolve them quickly and efficiently, and work towards development of the city.

"The people who have placed their trust in the new corporators should be given all basic facilities and their problems should be heard and resolved at the earliest," he said, adding that the work undertaken by the corporators should always be in the interest of their people.

He also urged them to work towards solving the issue of water shortage in the city. As summer advances, people may face lot of problems with regard to water supply, hence the corporators should take immediate steps to resolve this issue, he urged.

The bishop also advised the corporators to work for people from all walks of life without discrimination of caste, creed or community.

"May god's blessings be upon all the corporators and may He guide them in all their works," he blessed.

Meanwhile, corporators Naveen D'Souza, Jacintha Vijaya Alfred, Asha D’Silva, Lancelot Pinto and Sabitha Masquith visited the bishop at the Bishop's House and sought his blessings. Stany Alvares was present.

Congratulations to all the winning Congress specially christian Corporators who won the Corporation election with a lot of margin. People of the respective wards voted you hoping and anticipating that youwill work hard and provide necessary basis facilities for the residents. What BJP has not done i during their tenure you have to do especially providing footpaths, drains, removal of garbage, regular water and electricity supply, repairing the cross roads, broadening of lanes and lot more. Don't be lethargic. Try to do something better for the people and continue the same spirit so that you can win for the next time also. Good luck to all of you.
