Mangalore, Mar 13: Tension, anxiety and confidence marked the faces of thousands of students in various colleges as the all-important second PU exams commenced here and across the state on Wednesday March 13.

The examination is being held in 49 centers across the district.

For smooth flow of exams till March 28, the district commissioner has imposed prohibitory orders. Section 144 as per CRP has been clamped within 200 metres from the exam center to avoid untoward incidents.

Such areas have been marked as restricted, where, except for the students, no one else is allowed to stand in groups of more than four. Photocopying shops within 200 metres from the exam center should be opened/closed 30 minutes before and after exam, mobile phones are banned and various other orders are in place..

In the district, 32,267 students from 170 colleges are appearing for the exams.

Students across various colleges in the district were seen busy in last-minute preparations just before entering the exam halls.
