Mangalore: Accused in home stay case appears for second PUC exam

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore

Mangalore, Mar 14: 19-year-old Shreyas, a resident of Alape answered his second PU exams on Wednesday March 13, along with thousands of other students.

Nothing strange in that, except that he is one of the accused in last year's Padil home stay attack case.

Shreyas, who prepared for the examinations while being lodged in a cell at Mangalore district jail, was escorted by the police to the examination centre at Milagres College on Wednesday.

Shreyas, the 41st accused in the case had been arrested on October 10, 2012.

In the first week of March, the first additional district and sessions court heard his bail plea and allowed him to write his examination under police security. Sources said that his family members want him to be released so that he could pursue higher education.

Shreyas appeared for commerce exam and returned to jail. Meanwhile his mother and relatives were waiting outside the exam centre.

Shreyas refused to speak to the media. His mother and relatives too objected to media persons clicking pictures. He even expressed outrage at the media by throwing an object towards a camera near the jail premises.

First of all, a child is a child and should be given a scope to relook his life once again and move ahead. That is the principle of the Indian Justice. Secondly, if we want children to move ahead in life, would it not be better to maintain their identity. Being misguided is an error but not providing forgiveness and space to reform is a bigger crime. The courts will deliver justice and our focus has to be on ensuring that every child is given an opportunity to reform oneself. Let love and forgiveness rein. This does not mean that I do not condemn the attack on homestay. It is deplorable no doubt about it.

Mr.Vijay, The life what people lead in the west is totally machanical. Your own brother has no time to visit you or to invite you over for a meal. Its only here in India that we think of hospitality. Even in the Gulf people have no time and even a visit is by appointment. That's life. But that's not a rule. There are good and hospitable people too.

now i clearly understand why people abroad dont interfere in others personal matters. firstly they dont have time for themselves and their families. secondly they are more concerned about themselves.for them their only concern is their work and home.thats all. if others drink or party or drug they hardly give a look at it.they dont want to mess up their lives interfering in others personal matters.

To some of the commentators : The fact for this impulsive behavior of Shreyas can be attributed to him suffering from an ' inferiority complex 'which results in social jealousy. It could also be due to monetary conditions too. This is a psychiatric problem and needs medical attention. I say this because this boy mingles with refraps, he cannot digest seeing other boys of his age driving big cars or splashing money or moving out with pretty females etc. This has become a big challenge in a growing economy like India.

Gullible innocents fell prey to these elements and ruined their most important part of life!

They are more safe in the jail. They can be better citizens if they spend more years in jail.
A murder can be a self defense in a situation where one will kill the other to save himself. So such murderer can be forgiven by people and even by court of law. Here in this case, if you see the video you will just experience an inhumane act of a cruel animal which does not have any mercy. In the real life even male animals do not attack females.
Granting bail will be challenging decision for any magistrate. The whole incident has suddenly awakened every person of Mangalore like an eruption of a sleeping volcano. The whole matter caused fire flames that cannot be extinguished and the entire city witnessed a situation where these boys challenged the existence of womanhood.

    Dear Shreyas
You have a bright future. Don't destroy your precious life by involving in such kind of useless activities. You are showing impulsive behaviour. Don't carry aggressive behaviour in your life. It destroys your 'self' and life. Love and respect your 'self'. When a behaviour crosses the limit, it leads to Psychological Disorder. So be careful. Don't pay attention to surface level thoughts. Don't allow thoughts to control 'you'. You should be able to control your thoughts. My dear be careful excessive aggressiveness and activities like this may lead to Antisocial Personality Disorder. Just think, currently how much you are struggling (conflicts) from inside. You have lost mental peace and are frustrated. You are having emotional distress now. Due to this reason you feel irritated. Today many youths are suffering from stress related problems. So unnecessarily don't create problems. These useless people are playing with young sters life. They think, they become 'heroes' when they express their (dreampt)talents. They cannot control their urges, so the reaction is sudden and useless which harms the society. Wake up people, don't become Psychopaths. Control your impulsivity. My dear friend Shreyas think positively and change your mind. Keep yourself busy in constructive activities. Think about your parents. Are they happy ? no. Are you happy ? no. So don't involve in antisocial activities. I strongly think you need Professional help to come out from this trauma. All the best.

This person atleast got permission from lower court. This is called travesty of justice.
Many people slam Janardhana Poojary, for advicing youngsters not to ruin their future by joining these anti social communal forces. But they only realize his good intention when their God fathers abandon them to languish in Jails with no prospect of getting good jobs & permanent black spots in their records like these.
Parents should have taught good principles before they indulged in these criminal anti social activities, now no use regretting & blaming others for the plight of their kids.
