Udupi: Attack on students in bus - Kaup shuts down in protest

Inchara Udupi
Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (VM)

Udupi, Mar 16: Various Hindu organizations on Saturday March 16 called for a bandh in connection to the recent attack on three students for talking to a girl from another community in Manipal-Mangalore express bus.

In the morning, Kaup town observed complete bandh as a result of which all shops were seen with shutters down. Auto rickshaws, tempo, cars and private buses too did not run in Kaup, thus showing complete support to the bandh.

Various Hindu organizers protested in Kaup city demanding the immediate arrest of all the accused involved in the incident and to take strict action against them. As part of the protest, a procession was taken from the town to Kaup police station where hundreds of people gathered.

The procession ended after a memorandum was submitted to Kaup DySP Jayanth Shetty. Tight security was deployed in Kaup to prevent untoward incidents. Overall, the protest was peaceful.

Suprata Shetty, Vishwa Hindu Parishat district president, Geetanjali Suvarna, Arun Shetty Padur, BJP leaders like Vijay Karkera, Naveen Shetty, Ravindra Shetty, Vilas Nayak, Prakash Shetty Padebettu among others were present.

It may be recalled that on Wednesday March 13, two youths, identified as Srinath (23) and Rajesh (24), residents of Katipalla, Mangalore, along with another youth were beaten up by a group allegedly belonging to PFI. The youths, students of a college in Mangalore, were returning to Mangalore from Manipal by bus when the incident took place. During the bus journey, the youths were reportedly talking to a girl from another community. Noticing this, a youth who was in the same bus informed members of the local community outfits who later waylaid the bus and reportedly thrashed the youths.

Four persons have been arrested in connection to the case, and police had assured that all the accused would be arrested by Saturday. The arrested are Mullaru Pakirakatte Mubin (31), Thousif of Mullaru Kombagudde (25), Jalaluddin of Uchila (24) and Nasir of Uchila (21). They have been remanded in judicial custody till March 23.

Shops and other commercial outlets are closed NOT in support of Bandh called by the BJP/BD/HYS etc... but in order to avoid the losses which may occur by the goons of these BJP/BD/HYS.
Otherwise people have to bear the losses or the consequences which may arise due to these kind of bandh or by the goons of these parties.
District administration should take severe action against the people who called for the bandhs irrespective of their party's.

I remember one article in daijiworld about beating of two Muslim students by the BD or some moral police goons in Vamanjoor for travelling in the same bus with fellow female sportspersons. The BD boys were arrested and then made to run away by the famous RSS lawyer from the wenlock hospital. The victims had not committed any crime but travelling in the same bus for a sports meet. None of the organizations come forward for their rescue. Here all of a sudden all are feeling the heat. Now you realize what is pain? Or you cannot digest the fact that all that happened is your own style reversing on you.

"Maadidunno maraya"!! It's a culture of BJP/BD/VHP to attack innocents and they did this several times before. Thrashing muslim boys in front of the public for talking to hindu girls in coffee shops, malls etc., Recently even they have not spared a aged lady while attacking innocent peaceful devotees. Now naturally they have to get back the taste. History shows many such incidents and now it's BD's turn to get it back in right places so as to understand how painful to get a beating when people retaliate. BJP and VHP leader's are time servers and they are trying to play their cards on religious issues. It's shame for them instead of wiping the tears of down trodden they always play communal cards and infuse hatred among the communities. No one can tarnish the image of religions and religions teach to speak the truth and keep fear in God and it's character building process. BJP came to power in the name of Rama but once they got the power they behaved like Ravana's and amassed huge wealth for their generations. To whom they teach culture? To the poor? Has they maintain culture ? People now understand what's intention of BJP and in recent elections they have given a fitting reply so that at least they have to open up their eyes and reconcile the ideologies. These type of may prove costly to BJP and people once again teach them a very good lesson and our prayer is that all that wealth they have accumulated may be recovered and used for national building process. I do not know why some people in costal karnataka are still behave like chamchas. May be it's business!! "Hana Kandare Hena baayi beduttade".

Because the mood of the people in both districts are against political goondagiri and moral policing!!!!Apart from that the pulse of people were writing in the wall!!!!Police realized that they were watched by incoming State govt and therefore all personnel are in alert. In both cases's Sanghparivar's ire are against POLICE!!!!!WHY WHY WHY??? Its typical of police force in India to take sides of the ruling Govt, that too local & state. In the process some honest officers who would not want to bend their principles would either be asked to go on a leave or gets transferred whcile the lest willingly will support whoever comes to power to take Prasada. Its nothing new, Under BJP one section fo the society will feel insecure, under congress another section of the society will feel insecure thats all.

It looks like that girl travelling from katipalla to Manipal, then returning and talking to boys, then waylaying the bus and beating up the boys is all stage managed to get hype and attention. SRS cheif Muthalik already agreed to create communual stir for 50 Lakhs of rupees...An independant enquiry shall reveal the truth...beating up the innocent is toally unacceptable and highly condemnable. Before carrying out protests, the protestors and their masters should do an introspection and soul searching exercise. Please put your own house in order..before protesting the misdoings, please recall your own misdoings and compare it and weigh it...your misdeeds outweigh the current event..People have not forgotten the past and history repeats itself.

B.D. falsely accused them of converting to justify their action.

Is this democracy? Is this justice? When will these people open their eyes and learn to deal justly, sincerely? Is this vote bank strategy - to make up for the shameful defeat of BJP and their taliban groups in the recent local elections?
Finally, let no one take law into their own hands and harm innocent people.

IF BOYS BELONG TO MINORITY COMMUNITY TALKS TO HINDU GIRLS THEN IT IS AGAINST OUR CULTURE AND MORAL POLICING REQUIRED.

HOW MANY SUCH INCIDENTS HAPPENED IN THE PAST AND ALL THESE TIME MANAGALORE TALIBAN (BD, VHP, HJV AND RS) WERE TAKING THE LAW IN THEIR HAND. BUT NOW ONE INCIDENT OF MINORITY COMMUNITY TO HINDU BOYZ, I THINK ALREADY 3 PROTEST MARCH ARE HELD.

POLICE INQUIRY IS ON.... LET LAW DEPARTMENT TO CARRY OUT THEIR JOB...

OTHER DAY THERE WAS ATTACK ON CHRISTIAN PRAYER HALL... WHY DON'T ALL THESE PEOPLE GO AND PROTEST THERE ALSO???

WHY DON'T THEY PROTEST OUTSIDE TASHILDARS OFFICE TO ISSUE LEGAL DOCUMENTS FOR THE POOR FAMILIES, WHERE TASHILDAR WENT TO DEMOLISH HOUSES STATING HE IS ACTING ON COMPLAINT OF ILLEGAL STAY!!!
