Mangalore: Spirituality through music at CrossToc Gospel concert

Mangalore, Mar 17: Jesus Youth International, a missionary movement in the service of the church and an organization approved by Catholic Bishops Conference of India presented CrossToc Live, a Gospel concert at St Agnes Special School grounds here on Sunday March 17.
As Christians observe the season of Lent, the concert was organized at a right time to contemplate on the mystery of the Cross.
CrossToc, an emerging Gospel band in Cochin is travelling around the country to convey the message of Christ. The concert conveyed the message of Jesus through a fusion of Indian and Western music, life changing testimonies, skits and choreography.
Various musicians in the trope showcased their musical skills which left the audience mesmerized.
Overall, the concert was a great opportunity for the music lovers of the city, especially for the youth to have a different experience in spiritual music.
Huge crowd witnessed this spiritual concert. Many were seen dancing to the songs performed by the troupe.
Prior to the concert, vicar general Fr Denis Moras Prabhu released an audio CD ‘Jesu Mojo Swadh’ by Br T K George. The CD was sponsored by Walter Stephen Mendes, chairman of Divine Word Charitable Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, he said it was a special day for Jesus Youth with the concert being staged. He lauded them for all the hard work they put in to organize the show.
"In such kinds of Gospel concert which inspire the youth, large number of people should be present which in turn would help youngsters to grow spiritually," he added.
Fr Prakash Monteiro, Jesus Youth director, Tania Joseph, coordinator, Fr Francis Rodrigues, Raknno editor, Fr Francis Gomes, Bridget Davis, senior member of Jesus Youth among others were present.
